Two days later, I was cleared to leave Alderaan with Obi-Wan. The nurses had given us medical supplies so that he could take care of me once we were back on Tatooine. I was being rolled on a wheelchair in order to not aggravate my injury any further, and he was right by my side as we approached his ship.
Obi-Wan hugged Bail and thanked him for everything he had done. Leia was standing off to the side and giving me her well-wishes.
I wheeled her way onto to the ship and waited for my husband, who was talking to the princess. He laughed infectiously at something that Leia had said, and I smiled at Obi-Wan's visible happiness.
After he had thanked the Organa family again, he walked onto the ship and closed the ramp behind him. "Are you ready to go, love?" he asked softly, kissing my forehead gently.
"I am," I nodded.
Obi-Wan smiled and sat himself in the pilot's seat, taking off from the landing platform.
