(Fluffy)
I sat in the hotel bedroom, watching Titanic on the TV. My cheeks were stained with tears, and my eyes were puffy around the edges. No matter how many times I had seen the movie, it never failed to make me ball my eyes out.
Unfortunately, I was by myself, so I had to cuddle with a pillow in order to somewhat heal my broken heart. It was at the scene where Rose finds out that Jack has died, and she promises to never let go.
I felt bad about my neighbors because of how loud I was sobbing, but I couldn't control myself. I was too much of an emotional wreck to think clearly.
But suddenly, I heard the front door open, and I quickly sat up in response. Soft footsteps came toward the bedroom, and Ewan peeked in from the hallway.
"Hello, my-" He stopped mid-sentence when he saw my puffy face, and his expression became lined with concern. "Darling, what's wrong?" he asked as he came over to me.
I pointed toward the TV, and his eyes followed my finger over to the screen. When he saw what was on, he silently got onto the bed with me and wrapped his muscular arms around my waist. My head came to rest on his shoulder, and my back was leaned against his broad chest.
Ewan then began to kiss my tears away, letting his lips linger on my skin. "Shh," he cooed gently. "Don't cry, my love. I'm here with you now."
My body was still heaving with sobs, but his arms kept me securely against him, and I was grateful for his presence. He slightly leaned down and moved my pajama top over a bit so that he had access to my shoulder. His soft beard tickled as he planted tender kisses from my shoulder to my neck, and I sighed involuntarily from his gentle demeanor.
When Titanic ended, Ewan shifted a bit behind me, and I was worried that he was getting up. "Don't leave," I croaked, my voice shattered to pieces.
"I'm not going anywhere," he whispered reassuringly. "I was just trying to get comfortable."
"I'm sorry about that," I apologized.
"Don't be," he said with a tiny smile. "Your comfort is all that matters to me."
I didn't know how to respond to that, so I tiredly leaned back into him and exhaled largely. He leaned forward and kissed the back of my head, nuzzling his nose into my hair. "Are you doing okay?" he murmured against my skin.
I shrugged and replied, "I'm better than I was before. Your presence is soothing."
Ewan rested his chin on my shoulder. "Is there anything more I can do?" he asked softly, kissing my cheek.
I turned my head and looked at him. "Please stay."
"Of course." He let go of me for a moment so that I could get under the white blankets, and then he slid off his green T-shirt, laying down next to me on his side. I ran my shaky hands up his warm, bare chest and through the auburn hair lying across it.
Ewan noticed that I was still quite anxious from the film, so he pulled me closer to him and held me tight. "I promise I'm staying with you," he said quietly. "Don't be scared."
I was too emotionally drained to express my thoughts, so I responded instead by burying my face into his chest. He kissed the top of my head and continued to say sweet things to me until I eventually fell asleep in his arms.
