The day was beautiful as I sat out on the porch of my apartment and read a book. A slight breeze was blowing in the air, and the temperature was perfect.
It couldn't get much better.
But I was proven wrong when I heard something shift behind me, and I looked over my shoulder to see Ewan sitting down on the black sofa in the living room. He crossed his leg and asked, "What are you reading?"
"A romance novel," I replied, smiling in embarrassment. "It's corny, I know."
He chuckled good-naturedly and said, "That's not corny. I think it's cute."
"Of course you do," I mumbled under my breath.
A moment passed, and then, "Do you picture me when you're reading those books?"
I glanced back at him. "You're my husband. It's kind of hard not to picture the person as you."
Ewan got up and stepped over to me with a smile on his face. "That's true," he winked, kissing the top of my head. "I am pretty irresistible."
I rolled my eyes playfully. "Cute."
He laughed. "I'll leave you alone with your romantic fantasies."
"Thank you," I chuckled, keeping an eye on him as he walked away.
Why did he have to be so charming?
