only some days after y/n realized she had a crush on jean, and she swore her feelings only got stronger.
she was out of her history class, her head feeling heavier than usual. she walked in her next class, leaving her bag on her chair. she sat on her desk, leaning her head against the wall.
"you alright, baby?" sasha asked her, as she entered the classroom.
"yeah, just a headache" she mumbled, not even opening her eyes to look at her.
just then, a teacher came into the classroom, yelling at everyone who was in it.
"don't you know you're supposed to leave your classroom at breaks? they have to ventilate" she said, loud enough for y/n's head to hurt more.
sasha and historia left, leaving her alone. most of y/n's classmates were standing outside of the classroom, leaving her alone with another girl.
"why are you two not leaving?" the teacher asked, looking mostly at y/n.
"i have period cramps!" her classmate said.
"and i have a headache"
"anyways, you're not allowed to stay in here. so, you either get out or i'm calling the principal"
y/n looked at her classmate, before turning her head towards the teacher.
"i'm not leaving the classroom, and she ain't, either!"
once the teacher left, y/n leaned her head against the wall, her eyebrows furrowing. she had already took two painkillers, and they haven't helped her at all.
"are you alright?"
her eyes slowly opened at the sound of jean's voice, as she slowly nodded.
"i just have a headache"
he opened his mouth to say something, but he was interrupted by the teacher and the vice-principal.
'the fuck? last time i checked we had a principal in this school'
"those two don't leave the classroom, mr. ackerman"
kenny ackerman; the school's vice-principal. a science teacher with a master's degree, a weirdo and a pervert.
y/n had classes with him on the first grade of high-school, and she still remembered the chills of uncomfortableness that ran down her spine from his gaze.
"why don't you leave the classroom?"
"i have a headache!"
"and i can hardly move from the cramps!" the other girl said, angrily.
"you can sit outside" kenny said, looking at y/n.
"i don't want to"
"none of your classmates want to stay outside, but they do!" he said, slightly raising his voice at her.
y/n looked at him, balling her fist at her side. she wanted nothing more but to punch him, yet, she knew better than that. the last thing she wanted was to be expelled.
"can you please not raise your voice? the girl told you she has a headache" jean said, calmly.
"and who are you to talk? her lawyer?"
"i'm just taking my classmate's side, cause you're wrong"
"you, kids, have to follow some rules. and you don't. having a headache is not an excuse to stay inside the classroom"
"you're not helping her with her headache, since you're yelling!" jean said, slightly raising his voice.
y/n's eyes locked on him, noticing the look in his own. he was angry. she could understand it from his stance and the way his veins flexed on his hands.
"she did nothing wrong for you to be called here! she just wanted to stay inside to calm down!"
her eyes were stuck on him, his name rolling off her tongue in a soft tone; in an attempt to stop him. but, jean didn't stop. he kept on defending her, and this kept on making her heart jump.
yet, her headache was getting stronger and she felt like throwing up. she couldn't stand watching the boy she liked getting scolded and yelled at by the vice-principal because of her.
once they both left, y/n was out of the classroom in an instant. she cursed both kenny and the teacher inside her head, as she quickly made her way towards the bathrooms.
the bell had already rang, but she didn't care. she slammed the main door of the girls' bathrooms, before she locked herself on the last stall.
she allowed the tears to roll down her cheeks- her breaths coming out short and heavy. she wiped the mascara stains off her face, before she started making her way to the second floor.
she didn't dare to go in her class, so she sat on the stairs close to it. she hugged her knees to her chest, tears still staining her cheeks.
"hey..."
she raised her head, eyes falling on eren's figure above her. she softly smiled, as she watched him sit in front of her.
"jean told the class what happened"
"don't listen to kenny. you know he's weird, after all" he added, making her slightly laugh.
"yeah, obviously!"
"jean is... really angry with him"
y/n couldn't focus on anything else that left the boy's mouth. those six words echoed in her head, making butterflies dance in her stomach.
'jean got angry... for me?'
