y/n watched the rain fall, as she stood outside of her classroom. her mind kept taking her back to her mother's morning comment.
another comment about her body.
another comment that made y/n want to starve herself.
another comment that had her insecure and wanting to hide.
she was already insecure about her arms and the faded scars on them. yet, she had to be insecure about her whole body, too.
whenever thoughts and feelings like that appeared, y/n was drawing on herself; different shapes on her arms or any other body part she could hide with her clothes. it was making her feel better and more positive.
"are you alright?"
"oh, hi jean!"
"i've been here for some time, and you didn't notice me?"
"i was just abstracted"
before he could ask her anything more about it, she turned her head to the side to look at him;
"do you know how to draw stars?"
"stars?"
"yeah"
"the ones with the lines, sure!"
"can you draw me some?"
"right now? in less than two minutes classes start"
"come on, it'll be quick" she said, taking his hand in hers.
she guided him in her classroom and towards her desk, her deskmate raising her head quickly.
"fuck, i thought the teachers came in"
"i'm sorry, hitch" y/n softly said, taking a pen and giving it to jean.
his eyes were locked on her, as she rolled up her sleeves. he noticed the scratches on her arms, before quickly meeting her eyes.
"y/n, didn't we-"
"they're from my cat!"
"you have a cat?" he asked, in which she hummed softly.
he held her arm gently, the pen making contact with her skin as he drew the stars' lines.
she was staring at his calm face, which made her own burn up. his eyes were concentrated on his drawing, his lips pouting whenever he messed up.
'fuck, i want to kiss him'
he counted them, before leaving the pen on the desk.
"there you go! twelve stars for you"
"thank you so much"
"you're welcome" he smiled softly, ruffling her hair.
throughout the lesson, y/n couldn't take her eyes off the stars. jean probably didn't know it, but he had made her day a million times better.
because underneath her cat's scratches, there rested her faded self-harm scars.
so, jean, truly drew stars around her scars.
