y/n was spending her days ignoring jean and acting like he didn't exist. but, once she was all alone she was letting her true feelings show.
she tried countless times to stop thinking about him and just move on, yet, she couldn't do it.
she even tried ripping him out of her heart. but that had her sobbing and hurting all over.
she told herself that if she acted heartless, then one day, she'd actually be it, again.
she tried to act like she didn't care and that she wasn't hurting by making jokes, yet, this was breaking her heart more.
'i can't take this pain, anymore...'
she knew she was probably better off without him and his childish behavior, but she couldn't just stop her feelings.
they were only getting stronger and all she was trying to do was keep them hidden, so they wouldn't make things worse.
she had a free hour at school and she was all alone. hitch was absent cause she had a doctor's appointment, and sasha and historia had a different class together.
she was scrolling through tiktok, when she noticed someone coming in the classroom. she quickly turned off her phone and hid it, afraid it was gonna be a teacher.
"you can be on your phone, i don't care"
"oh, it's just you!" y/n said, looking at levi.
the janitor walked in the classroom, putting on his gloves as he looked around.
"what is this mess? your classmates really love giving me more work" he said, shaking his head.
"they always throw papers around. they're annoying"
"they even smoke in here, too?"
"oh, i didn't know it smells! i went next to the window to prevent that"
"and you failed" he said, slightly chuckling.
y/n shrugged her shoulders, not even finding the courage to smile at his comment.
"are you okay, kid?" levi asked, as he started sweeping.
"not really"
"are you tired?"
she slightly nodded her head, unable to form any words. she felt like she'd cry if she did.
"did someone hurt you?"
at the sound of the question, she raised her head, noticing that he was closer to her.
she went to shake her head no, but she knew her eyes that were filled with tears gave away everything.
"and i'm sure i know which boy is the reason behind your tears"
"it's not his fault..." she said, voice coming out like a whisper.
"it's not my place to judge! i can only say one thing to you, though"
y/n watched him as he walked closer, removing his gloves and giving her a tissue. she hadn't even realized that the tears had escaped her eyes and have painted her cheeks.
"you're gonna be okay"
"just believe in yourself, kid"
