when the new year arrived, y/n was happy that she could leave her feelings for jean behind.

she still hadn't deleted photos and messages of his, but she couldn't bring herself to do that.

yet, she knew it'd happen one day.

some nights when she was laying on her bed, she could still see it all in her mind.

it all felt so bittersweet and stung, but the pain wasn't suffocating anymore.

her heart still had many cracks on it and y/n was doing everything she could to fix it.

the person who helped her a lot in this time of her life, was ymir.

the girl always reminded her how proud she was of her and her progress. words that only brought tears in y/n's eyes and a smile on her face.

even if they were in different countries, she never failed to make her feel better.

y/n had screenshots of ymir's messages and she was reading them whenever she was feeling sad, or slightly disappointed in herself.

the girl was always there for her and y/n couldn't possibly put into words how thankful she was to have her in her life.

she felt closer to ymir than historia and sasha. two people that were living in the same country and city as her.

y/n could see cracks forming in her friendship with them.

her friendship with sasha already had cracks from previous years, when they were arguing.

yet all y/n did was give more chances left and right, hoping that sasha's behavior would change.

but, it was true; a person could never change.

her friendship with historia never had cracks before.

the two girls never fought or argued. they were always together since middle school.

but, she could see that historia's behavior was easily affected by others.

and yet, y/n couldn't bring herself to end her friendships.

she was just hoping, again.

hoping that her friends would come back to her side.
