"Tara"
Tara looked up from the book she was reading
"You have a visitor" her dad called from downstairs
She groaned and got out of bed, where she had been lying since lunch time, "Who?" She called back, running to her mirror and flattening her hair, she stopped for a second and frowned, "That'll have to do" she mumbled before rushing out the bedroom door
"Come see for yourself" he dad chuckled in response.
She quickly rounded the staircase, stopping when she saw who was standing at the bottom, "Fred?" She smiled, taking the steps two at a time.
Fred smiled awkwardly, "Hey, Tar"
Her Dad laughed, "Well, aren't you glad you came down?" He teased
"Shut up, Dad" Tara sighed, rolling her eyes
"I'll leave you two," he grinned, ruffling her hair. She shoved him off and Fred laughed quietly as she grabbed his arm and dragged up upstairs
"I'm down here if you need anything" he called after them.
"We won't" Tara called back.
When the two had gotten to Tara's room, she closed the door before saying, bluntly, "my rooms a mess"
She sighed and picked up a pile of books, lying open on her floor and dumped them on her desk, "I apologise" she turned to her bed before saying, "I wasn't expecting you," looking over at him with a smirk
"It's cleaner than mine" Fred shrugged
She hastily made the bed before gesturing at it, "Sit" she instructed, slightly breathless.
She quickly grabbed a book from her bed and threw it aside. Fred chuckled and did as he was told, before leaning over to pick up the book Tara had just thrown away. "What is this?" He asked reading the title, eyes squinted, "French?" He flicked through the pages before looking up at her cheekily, "you can read French?"
"Yeah" Tara said, defensively, "I can speak it," she grabbed it from his hands, "Why wouldn't I be able to read it?"
"No" Fred disclaimed hastily, "I think it's wicked"
Tara put the book on her desk, "who wouldn't?" she scoffed
He chuckled, as Tara sat down next to him. She sat back against the wall and sighed, "So what brings you here?"
"Missed you" he shrugged
Tara turned to him, smirking, "You're such a wuss" she laughed, shaking her head as she looked away again
"Am not" he piped up, looking at her as if she just slapped him in the face
"So are" she muttered, rolling her eyes despite the idiotic smile on her face.
He huffed and crossed his arms, "I'm just saying. Like, why lie when there's no point?" He paused before sighing, "I hate you"
Tara put her hands up in surrender, "Well, I just thought you said you missed me. So..."
Fred turned to her and grinned, "You're the worst"
"Not as bad as you" she replied returning his grin with her own. She patted his shoulder and sighed, "So, what you think of the lair?" she asked, in a mock of a threatening tone.
"It's actually really nice" he answered, taking another look around
"What do you mean, actually?" Tara asked, sitting up offended.
