Tara sat in History of Magic, completely zoned out, not that she was never zoned in during this class either. Honestly she couldn't tell you what every individual class was about she only passed because she studied it all after class, what was said in class hardly mattered.
She was dazed. Honestly, all of the sixth years from the last class were. This class unlike DADA, transfiguration and charms, had all houses in it, seeing as interest was so small. To be fair, this was the 'excuse to do homework' class and the resting class.
Never had a group of students been so quiet exiting a class, especially not a defence against the dark arts class, that was practically unheard of.
"Tara." Juliet hissed from beside her.
Tara suddenly blinked, "Yeah?" She whispered, looking to her dorm mate.
"You alright?" She asked, "You look out of it."
Tara nodded before sighing, "Just zoned out, nothing new." She answered shrugging.
"We all are." Juliet said fairly, furrowing her brows a little, "That last class was...a lot more serious than I thought it would be..." she trailed off before shuddering.
Tara nodded, "You can say that again."
The bell in the clock tower went off and the sound echoed around the castles. Professor Binns, stopped, sighed, and nodded in defeat as students already filed out of his classroom.
The weather was mediocre, not terrible but it was now painfully obvious just how late in the year it was, not exactly boosting Tara's now deflated mood. Not only, was she not talking to her best friend but now she had to think about that god damned torture curse for the rest of the day.
Getting her books from the Hufflepuff dorms was like a never ending task, a full day of classes and a nap in History of magic later and she was expected to study until her head spun, or her eyes shut, either or. Monday was the longest day too. Classes all day, half eight in the morning until six thirty in the evening-for N.E.W.T students anyways with a scandalously late lunch.
"Opinions on that class?" Ciara asked, taking her own pile of books out from under her bed, which sat next to Tara's.
"D.A.D.A?" Linda Woods called from across the mezzanine.
Ciara nodded.
"Heavy." She groaned, "It was cool, don't get me wrong." She disclaimed quickly, "But it was a lot. The poor creature was in pain."
"I hated the whole second class." Tara muttered.
"What?" Ciara asked her, looking up.
"Nothin'," she dismissed.
"You alright?" Juliet Summers called from downstairs the stairs, "You seemed off since Dark arts..."
Tara looked over the railing, "Hard not to be when you watch an innocent creature go through all three unforgivable curses within a minute." She called back, bitterly.
"Fair enough." Juliet sighed, she closed her wardrobe drawer, laying her final book on the ground carefully, now set up to study, "It was brutal."
Tara nodded before joking, "Why can't you study at a desk like a normal person?"
The door opened and Sarah McLoughlin peeked in.
"I like my floor time." Juliet said simply before sitting down, cross legged on the ground.
"Whatever works for you, works for you" Sarah laughed, "Me on the other hand will be on the couch beside the fire."
"That seats definitely gonna be gone when you get there." Juliet scoffed.
