The head of houses called for silence and the ministry wizard that came to teach gave their professors a grateful nod of the head. The students hushed before he began to speak, "Good Morning," said the ministry wizard, "My name is Wilkie Twycross and I shall be your Ministry Apparition instructor for the next twelve weeks. I have been teaching students here for the past five years and have had a constant stream of success throughout the years, with most students getting their approved results by the second testing, if not the first."
Lee hissed something into Fred's ear making him choke back laughter. Tara gave them a disapproving look.
"I hope to be able to prepare you for your Apparition test in the time span given to us, and hopefully I can all send you into your tests confidently," he seemed to scan the crowd of students, looking optimistic- Tara didn't know why.
"As you may know, it is usually impossible to apparate or Disapparate within the Hogwarts grounds. The headmaster has lifted this temporarily, purely within this area," he looked around, "About two hundred yards or so..."he turned back to them, "It would be unwise to try break these boundaries."
Fred's voice whispered into Tara's ear, "Want me to try it?"
She could hear the smirk in his voice, as she imagined Fred missing several limbs or die trying, "I'd prefer if you didn't," she muttered back.
"Ms. Tonks," Sprouts voice called, it wasn't demanding, but was solely raised to catch her attention.
Tara's head shot up, to see her head of house wink at her and nod to the instructor. Several students eyes glanced in her direction; Cedric pointed a joking finger at her.
"Could you all now spread out," instructed their ministry guest, "Spread out so that you have about five feet of space in front of you."
There was scrambling about, so people could get space by friends. Cedric pulled on Tara's arm, "Come over here," he suggested.
Tara looked over her shoulder at the twins and Lee who were already falling over themselves with laughter.
"Yeah, maybe that's best."
She followed his lead, and found herself situated on the edge of the group-Cedric to her right and a Ravenclaw girl to her right, who saluted her politely.
"Sorry, I pulled you from your friends, Tar," Cedric apologised quickly, "I just needed to talk to you," he told her.
"About?" Tara questioned, confused. What could be so urgent he needed to talk to her here?
"It's about Percy Weasley," he lowered his voice, and glanced over his shoulder, "Have the twins said anything about him?"
"What do you mean?"
"Have they mentioned him?"
Tara thought about if before scoffing, "They never do."
"I was just wondering because," he motioned for her to come closer. Tara leaned over and looked at him quizzically. "Because...there's been talk."
Tara stood back and raised a brow, "By who?"
Cedric opened his mouth to answer but the next second Snape's cold voice demanded immediate, "Silence."
