Tara and Ciara were out shopping for their dress robes and they did have to admit that girls dress robes were a lot nicer than boys dress robes. Boys dress robes just looked like weird muggle tuxes. The girls got to wear dresses that were reminiscent of fantasy fairy dresses from the medieval times.

If one good thing came from wizards deciding not to move on from the prosecutions, it was the robes.

Sarah had already bought some at the start of the year and Juliet and their other dorm mate Allegra went together the day before.
"What colour do you think suits me the most?" Tara asked Ciara, "I found two dress robes that I really like but..."

"Show them to me." Ciara said, her head popping out from behind a clothing rack.

Tara took two out, and held them up. Ciara's mouth dropped open, "Oh my Godrick, Tara, the red one is beautiful."

Tara looked at it, it really was. It had angel sleeves, with slits all the way up to the upper arm, on each sleeve. The sheer material that made up the outer layer of the skirt glittered in the light, with gold tulip and roses embroidered across the hem of each part of the robes, the skirt hem, the end of the sleeves and the neckline. The neckline was like an illusion, like there would be no material above the sweetheart shape but on an invisible silk was more flower shapes, outlining where the collar bone should be.

Tara grinned, "Yeah?"

Ciara nodded enthusiastically, "That colour with your dark hair, perfect!"

Tara laughed lightly, "Ok, I'll try this on." She draped it over her shoulder neatly, making sure nothing dragged on the floor. She sighed, "So, what's on the list for you?"

Ciara held up her choice. A light colour, with a cross over neckline, like an ancient sort of toga, the material was light and flouncy, glittering with silver. The sleeves, angel sleeves, that were so often associated with wizard clothing, were transparent, sheer material with embroidered light pink flowers.

Tara nodded, "That's so you. The vibe of the dress, the shape, it would suit you so well! And the colour, you'll look like a Greek goddess." She told her.

Ciara giggled, "You're such a smooth talker."

"What can I say?" Tara grinned.

The two went into separate changing rooms, neighbouring each other. As they changed they spoke.

"So, wait what happened to your date?" Ciara asked.

Tara's breath caught in her throat. She took a moment to shake off those weird feeling she had felt since the moment Fred told her he had lied to her. It was a usual feeling, it hurt her chest a little, and it made her face feel warm but her arms feel cold.

"Umm, his parents said he couldn't stay." Tara excused, "It's fine, I'll figure something out."

"Mitchell is still looking for a date." Ciara told her, "You could go with him." She suggested.

"Maybe, I'll see if Lee has asked anyone yet." Tara said, "He has his eye on someone though." She tried to hide the fear in her voice that she might just have to go alone.

She'd rather be alone than lead a guy on.

"You'll be fine." Ciara reassured, "And once they see you in those dress robes, you'll be hated by every girl because you'll steal their dates."

Tara shook her head and laughed to herself, pulling up the rest of her robes. "Here, Ciara, can you tie my robes up please?"

"Two seconds, I'm almost there."

Tara stepped out of the changing room, looking at herself in the mirror. She furrowed her brows, what could I do with this, is what she was asking herself, what to do with her hair, her jewellery.
