Entry six-April 20th 1995
So, as we had discussed last time we continued with legilimency but this time I think I did something. We were getting toward the end of the lesson and I'd gotten very good at blocking it off, disarming him before even a split second of memory was revealed!
I was proud of myself and he was too. We had spent nearly at hour at this stuff and he said we'd give it one last try before we finished up.
So, there we were, about to start again, when the penetration of my mind felt oddly intense, more strong that it had in the past.
(My guess is that since it was the last shot, he didn't go easy on me for once)
Honestly it was a little painful, bordering discomfort. And I don't know what I did but I think I might have reflected the spell back on him because for a moment the pain ceased and whatever memory was playing in front of my eyes wasn't mine.
I was in a court room. I knew the witches and wizards inside, but they looked different; they were younger. My Mum was there, looking grim and guilty in the crowd, while a man I recognised from the paper sat in the questioning chair, chained and agitated. Beside him sat two others.
I'm not sure what happened, or why I did it. Moody says I got defensive, he was intrigued but also a little defensive; he got snappy afterward.
Anyways, Crouch was sitting behind the bench, his wife (I recognised her from the articles concerning her health and asking people to wish her well). She was crying.
The words that came out of his mouth were muffled, I didn't hear them. I heard something like "heinous crime" or something along those lines....
I didn't really get a good look at the other people, but the boy that spoke was nervous, not as confident as the others (to be noted that one was nervous, but this boy was young and terrified)
"Father....father please"
That's what he said, or I think he said. I couldn't tell because next moment moody had me disarmed and he had stunned me to the other side of the room.
I was winded I must admit. It was a bit more violent that I was expecting but he apologised and said it was a response he'd picked up from his auror years. Understandable. His eye scanned me like prey and his blue one in that socket just fixed on my face, it was intimidating.
I asked him what that was about. He hesitated. But he told me it was the trial for the torture of Alice and Frank Longbottom...
I felt ill. I'd heard what happened. Bellatrix helped; she tortured them to insanity. In my opinion that's a life worse than death...poor Neville. I heard how they didn't know him to see him, I couldn't bare to think of it.
He told me that the boy in the memory was Barty Crouch junior and asked who else I had seen in the room. I answered; my mum, Barty Crouch's son, Mr. Crouch and his wife.
But we talked about the trial, the cruciatus curse and we talked a bit about my experience. We talked about it for a good while, we ran almost an hour over.
Anyways, as scary as being disarmed and stunned by Mad Eye moody was, I lived to tell the tale (joking of course :))

Entry seven-May 18th 1995
We moved on from legilimency.
Thank Merlin, that's all I can say.
Anyways, today we talked transport, apparition, the flu network, brooms all that stuff. He asked me what I thought was most efficient as a witch who can't apparate by myself yet.
Weird question but I ran with it. I said a portakey because that seemed to work for the World Cup. Multiple people at once, can be quite clever to disguise a magical object from unsuspecting muggles...seems like a no brainer to me.
He asked how my apparition lessons are going, I told him they're going well. To be fair, I was the first to successfully teleport the longer distance this week (a fluke but an achievement nonetheless).
He seemed impressed with my development. For this lesson he just sort of asked where my other classes were going, like potions (I told him Fred is slightly ahead of me, he seemed slightly taken aback...to be fair he pays very little attention in DADA) and charms.
Oh, as well as that he asked me about my metamorphagus abilities. I told him I'm getting very good, I've managed to nail turning into different people (the impressions need work). I've also been writing to Dora and asking for her little party tricks and so I told him about the little stuff I've taken from my sister, making myself cat ears, whiskers, duck bill...all that fun stuff.
I think this lesson was the sort of gauge my abilities outside his lessons and classes, to see what to work on for our last two in June and July.
I was happy with it. He seemed very happy with my skills.
