The Lucky in Love Awards are sponsored and judged solely by KatherineJones92, who required readings and substantial/original comments on two of her books: My Life In Pieces and Piece By Piece. Technically I only had to add both to my permanent reading list and comment on one of them, but you know me.
I submitted Ancilla - I'm not sure which category anymore. Probably LGBTQA+, which Ancilla does qualify for, with its bisexual protagonist who is working through the trauma of being disowned for refusing conversion therapy (aka "pray the gay away").
I read the required chapters. I have not yet finished either book.
I'll be very surprised if I even get an honorable mention for this contest.
UPDATE: 3/18/2024 - Astonishingly, I won first place for the LGBTQA+ category. I had to double-check to make sure I was not the only contestant, and the category was full, which makes this win even more surprising.
LATER THE SAME DATE: Holy carp... I almost made the Top Three?!?
I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT AT ALL.
Okay, I don't even pretend to understand Wattpad and its currents and eddies.
