Ancilla is entered in the Magical Realism category (finally, a category it fits perfectly!) I appear to be the only contestant so far, so I'm not sure if I'll be moved to an adjacent category, or just left unjudged for lack of competition.
It looks like I was accepted, at least.
The single author who entered a book in the Comedy category is facing a similar situation. At least I am not alone.
UPDATE (7/13/2024) - I think the contest is on hold, anyway... And now I'm craving gulab jamun.
UPDATE (10/15/2024) - Nobody else entered the category I'd entered, and the only adjacent category I qualified for (Urban Fantasy) had already closed, so I had to withdraw my entry.
