This contest is big.
Don't die of shock, but I have actually written some "clean" fiction - and it's the "clean" fiction that was eligible to compete in these awards, because the only fantasy stories I've written to date are cleanfics.
I entered "The Fire That Burns the Brightest" in Tiny Fantasies (short stories), I think; Arkesh in Let's Get Into The Adventure; and possibly "The Gilden Door" in Tiny Fantasies, maybe.
I'm curious to see how they'll do. they're good, but they're not my best work.
I'm also considering entering "The Parliament of Rooks" (from Morsels) as fanfiction. I mean, it kind of is. It's Chaucerian fanfic, with a tip of the hat to a segment in Neil Gaiman's Sandman comic series that had a similar parliament of birds. Does a dream-vision count as speculative fiction, though, or is it only slipstream fiction?
