Entered ROMANCE/CHICKLIT Category - sometime in mid to late January? This was one of the first contests I entered. Maybe THE first.
Read Olivia Brunch's books Put In On Paper and Love Notes, found out several weeks later that I had been assigned a different judge, _Baby_A_A_, and was supposed to have read SHS. Oops. I have until 3 am tonight to finish it, and I have to be up early for work tomorrow morning, so I really should NOT be sitting here typing up a big book of contests. I should be READING. Oh, well. Coffee exists for a reason, right?
UPDATE: There has been some shuffling around again, and I can't remember which category I'm even in anymore, but my the shuffling was done so that @SapphirianJ82 could judge my novel (which was the only way she will have time to finish reading it).
All of which may disqualify me from winning anything, but really, the main reason I've been entering contests is to meet people, find cool books to read, find engaged readers, and find people willing to make the sort of comments or reviews that I can ask them, "May I please put this on a back cover blurb or an inside page blurb?" when I have enough critical comments to actually use as blurbs, thus making the print edition of Ancilla look less like the newbie debut self-published novel by a part-time author that it actually, you know, is.
And I'm accomplishing that.
Booyah!
UPDATE (6/5/2024) - contest was cancelled due to half the judges going AWOL.
