I entered Excavations into the Poetry category and Ancilla into the Paranormal category. Both entries were accepted. Awaiting update on judges and payments.
UPDATE (10/16/2024) - Sadly, I think these awards were abandoned.
UPDATE (7/3/2025) - Astonishingly, contest results have started rolling in.
Ancilla placed third in the Paranormal category, and the judge basically said it was fantastic and very well written, just not to her taste because it involved slow burn and slow pace, and she likes fast and furious. So points were deducted for... that.
I'll take it. An award is an award - and as of today, this will be Ancilla's 90th award.
(And yes. It has found an audience, at least on Wattpad, where it reached the 10K view mark last week. Hopefully, the feature in The Kirkus Review this coming July 15, combined with a media blitz set up with some influencers I met through the Calli app, will get the book some more exposure in the outside world, meanwhile).
