Haley's POV
"Head up Ms. Rhodes!" My teacher snapped at me.
Only one more week until summer. Only one week until the end of high school. I thought to myself.
My mind was racing with thoughts of Charlie. Why? I didn't know. I should be hating him, right? Forgetting every little thing about him? Acting like I don't even know him? Im just disappointed in myself for not seeing something like this taking place.

"And that concludes the afternoon announcements for the day. Don't forget to come out and support your hockey team tonight at their came against Parker High."
I rolled my eyes. Never again. Never. I thought to myself.
***************
"I'm home, mom!" I called.
"Hey, Hales! I've got to work late tonight so I won't be home until midnight or later. Can you manage everything here?"
I nodded, "Sure it's no problem."
She kissed the top of my head, "Be good."
"I will, don't worry."
"Alright, I have to go love you!" She blew kisses to me.
"Love you too, mom."
I picked up my phone scanning over new notifications. About 5 texts had come Charlie.
Im sorry.
•
Please Talk to me.
•
Theres a game tonight. You should come.
•
Call me. I want to talk to you.
•
This is childish, Haley. Just call me.
•
I've heard it all before. I deleted all of the messages and shut my phone off before heading upstairs to start my homework.
***************
I switched off the TV and the lights then locked the doors before I headed back upstairs towards my bedroom. It was relatively early but I was drained from the events of yesterday. Just as I was about to climb the first stair, I was stopped by the sound of the doorbell ringing. I let out a loud groan before making my way over to the door. I peered out the blinds before rolling my eyes.
"Charlie, what the hell are you doing here? You have a hockey game in like 15 minutes."
"I know. I had to see you. I can't leave yesterday with how we ended it."
"Ended what, Charlie? Just because we kissed? That doesn't mean you're my boyfriend and I am not your girlfriend." I tried slamming the door but failed as Charlie held it open.
"Stop doing that."
"Stop doing what! It's my house." I retorted.
"Stop acting like a child!"
"A child?" I scoffed. "You actually think you can come here and..." My voice was cut off by Charlie's lips on mine. He pushed me back into my house, his one arm around my waist as the other shut the door. He backed me up against the wall, preventing me from any escape.
"No, you can't just do that." I shook my head, pulling away from him.
"I'm not doing anything. There's something between us and you feel it just as much as I do. Face it. You and I are the same." He stepped away from me.
