Haley's POV
I sat in the locker room, patiently awaiting Charlie's arrival. What was I going to say? I hadn't intended on this today. What am I saying? I never plan on doing any of the things I do when it comes to Charlie.
My eyes shot up to the entrance as he entered. His dark hair semi sweaty from being under his hockey helmet. He looked at me, running his free hand through his hair before pulling his bottom lip between his teeth.
"Hey." He lightly said.
"Hi." I allowed a half smile to form on my lips as he came closer to me to set his equipment down by his hockey bag.
"We have a lot to talk about, don't we." Charlie sighed, sitting next to me, his elbows resting on his knees.
"Yeah. We do." I responded, staring down at my hands in my lap.
"Where do you want to start?" He asked, looking back at me.
"I don't know." I shrugged.
"Ok, Haley, I have. . ." Charlie moved to kneel in front of me but stopped talking as Frank entered.
"What's going on in here?" He crossed his arms over his chest staring daggers at Charlie who was know standing in front of me.
"Nothing." Charlie shook his head as I looked back and forth from him to Frank.
Frank seemed unsure and continued to narrow his eyes at Charlie. "I need you two to leave. Morning sessions are coming up." He told us and with that, he stood in the doorway until Charlie and I would leave the locker room. I assume to make sure we didn't try to stay any longer.
"Wait outside for me." Charlie leaned down to whisper in my ear. "Please," He added as I nodded, standing before scooting my way past Frank and out the doors of the main rink.
Charlie's POV
"I'm going, I'm going." I told Frank as he still stood in the doorway.
After unlacing my skates and kicking them off, I stood to set them in my bag but as I turned, Frank was standing in front of me now. He gripped my arm, leaning in to tell me something.
"I told you not to bother that girl." He sternly spoke reminding me of what he had said earlier.
"I didn't." I growled, pulling my arm out of his hold. "Now can I get out of this equipment?"
"I don't want to see you back here. Find yourself another rink." Frank pointed at me as I stood, powerless to his words.
"What do you mean find another rink? There aren't any other rinks!" I yelled as he walked out of the locker room.
"Not my problem!"
"Dammit!" I cursed, kicking my hockey bag before running my hands through my hair.
I sat back down on the bench to recollect myself before changing out of my equipment and pulling on my athletic shorts and hoodie. I just hoped that Haley listened to me and she would be waiting outside for me.
Haley's POV
I leaned back on the hood of my car as I finally saw Charlie emerge from the building. He looked angry and I immediately wondered what had happened in the short time after I left.
"Charlie," I said as he approached. "What happened?" I asked as he threw his hockey bag down next to me along with his stick.
"That son of a bitch," He muttered more to himself than me. "He can't do that!" Charlie turned almost shouting towards the rink.
