Haley's POV
"Lets get started then." Charlie said before helping me up. "Alright, first off hold your arms up like this."
I did as Charlie said, mimicking his actions. I assumed this was a block.
"Good, now try this."

After Charlie taught me the basic moves to what I need to know, he began giving me scenarios to test my "skills". He was taking this very seriously and so was I. When I said I wanted to be ready for something like that, I meant it.
"Ok," He started, putting his hands on my shoulders before turning me around to face away from him. "What if I'm coming at you from behind? Like this." His arms wrapped around my waist, his voice whispering in my ear. I had to admit I was a bit distracted. "You haven't made a move yet." Charlie called me out.
"I know." I told him.
He sighed, "Dont think of me as Charlie. Think of me as a 30 year old murderer about to make you my next victim."
My eyes went wide at Charlie's words, a set of shivers being sent through my body. I knew he was just making it up but the thought still frightened me.
"Sorry, sorry. I'm just trying to make this realistic." He quickly caught himself making my breath release.
"It's okay. Just my crazy mind." I muttered, turning my cheek to face him.
He leaned forward, his lips pressing to mine. "Just show me what you'd do." He calmly said.
"What if I hurt you?" I raised an eyebrow as he lightly laughed.
"Don't worry. I've been in my share of fights over the years."
I nodded, facing away from him again as he returned to the same stance he was in before. I thought quick, my elbow coming behind me to connect with Charlie's stomach. I spun on my heel to see Charlie's arm wrapped around his torso.
"Good." He choked out which made me drop to my knees next to him.
"Oh god. Charlie! I told you," I started but was silenced by his laughter that began to erupt from his body. "You ass!" I said, slapping his chest.
Charlie fell onto his back, humorous chuckles still falling from his lips. "You should've seen your face." He muttered in between laughs.
"Shut up." I pouted, crossing my arms over my chest as I sat back on the floor.
"Oh c'mon," Charlie got up from his position, scooting himself closer to me before laying his hand on my cheek. "Don't look at me like that."
"Too late." I pouted some more, almost like a 2 year old who just got their toy stolen.
My eyes followed Charlie as his arms wrapped around me, spinning my body before pulling me into his lap. I laid my head back on his shoulder bringing my legs to my chest. His arms were felt around me as my fingers traced his jawline.
"I love you." He said, looking down at me.
"I love you."
His lips leaned down to mine, placing a kiss to my mouth.
"I think that's enough for today."
"Me too. Thank you for that." I told him, laying my head back on his shoulder.
"C'mon you should probably get home. Your mom is going to hate me."
"But I don't want to go home." I protested. "I want to stay here. With you." I said the last words very slowly as if I was afraid he didn't want me here.
