Haley's POV
The next morning was a very lazy one. Charlie and I hadn't gotten up till about 10. The couple hours after that were filled with both of us taking showers and getting ready. We'd decided to go into the little town that was about 10 minutes from the lake house.
Charlie had told me that him and his family would come here a lot on the weekends. He paused briefly after saying this, memories seeming to rush back. I could tell he was trying to push them away as he began stuttering.
He finally found the words simply saying, "But that's all changed. Now I'm usually the only one to take trips up here."
"What about your grandparents? I thought you said they owned the house?"
"They do but it was kind of a present to the family but we don't come up here anymore. My grandparents do every so often on holidays or long weekends but not as much now."
I nod at the new information he'd just shared with me.
"But I'm glad you're here." Charlie leaned down slightly, pressing his lips to mine. Our mouths moved in sync as I held my hands on his sides. His hands left my cheeks as he effortlessly lifted me from the kitchen floor, my legs wrapping around his waist. My fingers tangling in his hair. I could feel a hard surface behind me as Charlie placed me up on the counter, his body fitting in between my legs.
"C'mon we should get going." I pulled away. My eyes were now level with his since I was sitting higher.
He pouted as I playfully pushed him back so I could become free from his grip. I walked to the hallway mirror to straighten up my appearance before Charlie came up behind me telling me that we he was ready to go. I nodded, following him out the door. I smiled as he laced our fingers together. Our hands fitting together like two puzzle pieces.
Within a little over 10 minutes, we'd arrived in the little downtown area. It was small. I guess not that many people lived out this way.
After Charlie parked, we got out walking down the sidewalk. We passed little shops and stands. My eyes scanned over the various windows that contained different things from clothes to bakery's. Charlie swung his arm around my shoulders as we continued walking. I could feel his arm tighten slightly around me, pulling me closer. I looked up at him as Charlie was staring daggers at the group of guys that looked around our age or a little older walking towards us.
"Charlie?" I asked quiet enough for only the two of us to hear.
He shook his head, our eyes meeting, and our tracks stopping. I could feel as his muscles began to relax again. I furrowed my eyebrows looking up at him.
"What was that all about?"
"Nothing. Guys around here aren't that nice. That's all." He replied, running a hand through his hair.
I rolled my eyes. I can see how protective he is now.
"Just trust me, ok?"
I nodded, taking his hand in mine in an attempt to change his mood and the subject.

After walking around, through all the different shops and such. It was about 5 in the afternoon. When I checked the time, my mouth fell open. I hadn't realized we'd been here for that long.
"Let's go in here. I'm getting hungry." I flicked my head in the direction of the small restaurant just across the street from where we were standing. Charlie followed behind me as I tugged him into the little eatery.
We sat ourselves by the window as we started scanning over the menu. Soon after, a waiter walked up to our table to take our orders.
"My name's Tommy. I'll be your. . ." He stopped mid sentence. My eyes drifted from the menu as he looked at Charlie.
