As Yeonjun stepped back into the ward, he found Beomgyu leaning against the headboard with a sulky expression etched across his features. Mrs. Choi sat beside him, holding a spoonful of food and a bowl, her expression a mix of affection and care as she fed her son with her own hand.

Yeonjun watched from afar, his heart swelling with affection at the sight of the mother and son sharing this intimate moment. The bond between them was palpable, a testament to the love and strength that had carried them through the most challenging of times.

As Beomgyu took another spoonful of soup, he couldn't help but pout slightly at the feeling of being fed like a child. "Mom," he whined, his voice tinged with protest, "I'm not a baby anymore. I can feed myself."

Mrs. Choi chuckled softly, shaking her head as she gently admonished him. "Oh, hush now," she teased, her eyes twinkling with affection. "You'll always be my baby, no matter how old you get."

Beomgyu rolled his eyes playfully, and sulked like a child as he crossed his arms against his chest and turned his face to the side.

Yeonjun watched the exchange with a warm smile, feeling grateful to witness such a heartwarming moment between mother and son. It was moments like these that reminded him of the preciousness of family and the strength that came from unconditional love and support.

Jimin smiled warmly as he appeared in the room as well, addressing Mrs. Choi with gentle courtesy. "Mrs. Choi, could you please follow me for a moment?"

Beomgyu only now noticed Yeonjun's presence in the ward, his expression hardening instantly. Yeonjun didn't like this shift in the boy's demeanour but he tried not to give it much thought.

As Mrs. Choi agreed to follow Jimin, Yeonjun promptly ran to her. With a gentle smile, he reassured Mrs. Choi, "I'll take care of him for you."

Beomgyu, although clearly not thrilled at the idea, didn't say anything, not wanting to act like a child.

Yeonjun remained by Beomgyu's side, his presence a silent reassurance amidst the tension that lingered in the air. Beomgyu avoided Yeonjun's gaze at all costs, turning his face away to look somewhere else instead while keeping his arms crossed against his chest.

Yeonjun hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to say or do to break the silence that hung between them like a heavy curtain. He could feel Beomgyu's walls closing in, the distance between them growing with each passing moment.

He looked down at the bowl in his hand and gathered some contents on the spoon before raising it in the air and bringing it to the younger's mouth, "Come on, open up. You need to finish this."

Beomgyu stubbornly turned his head away, refusing to open his mouth as Yeonjun approached with a spoonful of soup. His sulky expression deepened, as he kept his arms crossed defiantly, a clear sign of his reluctance to cooperate.
