My Sweet Mermaid

~ Chapter 1 ~

+ ??? POV +

I woke to the sounds of high-pitched screams and not the sounds of someone dying like most would think. The high-pitched screams are my sibling arguing as per usual. The daily big sister duty.

"Not this again." I groaned and got up.

"Give me my toy or I'll slap you with my tail!" 

"No because I'm sick and tired of you using me as your minion or obstacle!" I rolled my eyes at my two sisters arguing.

"Ondina, give her toy back. Cece, stop using Ondina for your imaginary story time." I said, calmly.

----> Ondina is the middle child and can be a bit troublesome. She is a social butterfly and makes friends quite easily unlike me. Her tail is a mixture of blue and purple while her skin complexion is a medium tan. Absolutely stunning especially with her hazel eyes with brown specks. Her height is average of a female but just a bit shorter than me.

----> Cecelia aka Cece is the second youngest child. She is the sweetheart and like every child, wants to play with someone. She is adorable with her green eyes that have a hint of blue along with her tail being mixed with blue and green. She is lightly tanned.

"No!" I gave them a look and they put their heads down. 

"I'm sorry." They said, in sync. 

"Melony, please come here!" He yelled. I left to the living room. I seen my father.

----> My father, King Marion Bluewater of the Pacific Ocean. He is 6'1, short black hair, and tan skin. His tail is blue-ish green and eyes are a hazel brown. He is sometimes strict but he is very caring and loving behind that cold exterior.

"Yes, father." I looked at him.

"Are you still going to our beach house in a few days?" He asked. 

"Yeah. Destiny is going to meet me here and then we are going to head over together." I explained.

"Well, I want Justin to go with you and Destiny." He stated. 

"Why~? This is supposed to be a girl's trip." I whined because I was upset.

"There have been reports of attacks lately on the locals and Justin is going as protection."

"Attacks?" I asked, confused.

"The Sterlings don't have some of the vampires under control and they've gone on a rampage. They have started feeding on innocent people like crazy." I sighed.

"Okay. He can come as long as us, girls, get our privacy."

We finished up the conversation right when Justin swims in.

----> Justin is my older brother. He gets his height from dad being 6 feet. We are the closest out of the siblings. He is overprotective over his family but since we are close in age, he is worse with me, but he is still loving to me. His eyes are a beautiful sky blue and his skin is tan with his tail matching his eyes. 

"What about me?" He asked.

"You're going with Melony and Destiny to the beach house in a few days." Dad explained.

"Okay."

[Next Day- Thursday]

I couldn't stop thinking about the attacks that Dad brought up so I decided to go to the kingdom's library. 

"Welcome Princess Melody." The librarian smiled.

"Thank you, Emily, but you don't have to be formal. I'm just like every other mermaid."

"I know, Melony. Anyways, what brings you here?"

"Do you know anything about the recent attacks with vampires?"

"Oh, little Melody. Why so interested on vampires?" I rolled my eyes at the voice.

"Fuck off, Michael." I turned to him.

----> Michael is irrelevant. A side piece I would say. He is the popular jackass in school. He thinks he has all the girls or can get them at least. As a person, he pisses me off. He has an eyebrow piercing, medium length brown hair, and brown eyes with a red tail. He is a bit taller than me but the girls all love him because of his looks and abs but he is pure bullshit.

"Fiesty as always." He smirked.

"Maybe if you weren't such a cocky and self-centered person, I wouldn't be such a bitch to you." I put a fake smile on. He swam off after laughing. I looked at Emily and we went to the office. 

"Yes, I know about the attacks. They are horrible, Melody, especially the vampires with pure white eyes."

"Vampires with white eyes?"

"Yes. They are called Zagans. They are the most dangerous. The killers. They were under control but the Sterlings couldn't catch a handful of them when they escaped. Zagans have been feeding on the humans. Draining the blood out of their system." Emily said, causing me to gasp in fear.

"Why are they like this?" 

"They used to be the normal vampires until it was rumored that someone wanted to make an army of killers at their side."

"Do they know who was behind it all?" I asked, curiously.

"No it was just rumors. Nothing confirmed but some think they were completely injected with a poison." 

"Woah." 

"Yeah but I have to get back to work before I get in trouble. Have a good day, Melody." 

"You too, Emily. Thank you." I swam back to the house to prepare for small vacation.

"Let's go beach house!"
