~ Chapter 31 ~

+Mel's POV+

"Please stop this." I was drained and tortured. 

"What's wrong, Melony?" I was tied to the wall and my body was limp. 

"This will be fun. What a cute dress." My chin got grabbed harsh and my eyes opened slowly. 

What?!

No! Not him!

"Why are you here?" 

"Oh you know. Just having my fun with you." He backed away and I was trembling. 

"It's weird that you're a fish but your blood didn't taste like that." He walked to a chair and sat down. He had a branding iron with some kind of symbol on it.

"What do you want from me? Why did you kidnap me?"

"Because I was trying to see what was so special about you. Why Liliana cared for you so much? I figured that out now. You're forbidden to be with each other and here you are sneaking around." 

"Why do you fucking care so much?" I let out, exhausted.

"I'm the heir to the throne but my sister is slowly crawling to the top and my parents are seeing her hardwork. They are wanting her to take over and be the queen!" He threw daggers at me and I screamed. I looked down at my thigh to see blood seeping out.

"I'm not the real enemy, Melony."

"Once Lili finds out what you are doing, she will kill you." I darkened my stare at him. He chuckled while sticking the branding iron in scorching hot lava. 

"That's the funny thing, if she does then she exposes her love for you and then she'll die for breaking the law." He moved the ropes, so I was leaned forwards. He climbed up a wood ladder with the branding iron.

"You controlled my sister and are causing me to be beneath my sister. I won't allow that." I felt a burning against my skin. I screamed and clenched my fists. It felt like my skin was melting and I felt weak.

"A war will happen. Not now but it will happen."

"You'll be dead. Your parents will put you in a dungeon where you belong!" I spat out. He jumped down and slapped my face with the back of his hand. He lifted up my chin.

"You'll know soon enough." He walked away.

+Silas' POV+

I was in the woods when I heard sounds. I jumped up and masked myself. I hid in a tree to see 2 people.

"Remember the plan." I was confused but intrigued. 

"Listen, Jaiden. I'm serious. You think you know Mel but you don't. Your little friend that you know is a mermaid." My eyes widened. 

Mel? Wait Lili's friend?!

I smirked hearing this. I continued to listen to their conversation. I watched as the random dude killed 2 people. They left off and I disappeared. I watched the friend group and followed Lili and Mel to wherever they were going.

-Skip to the day of Mel missing-

I watched as Jaiden and Mel parked. I stood in front of Jaiden.

"What the fuck?" I grabbed his neck and looked into his eyes.

"You won't remember what happened. Go back home and continue with your day."

"Yes, I won't remember. I'll go home and go on with my day." I took Mel out of the car and rushed her to an abandoned castle. 

+Lili's POV+

I hissed and held my back.

"Lili, are you okay?" 

"No, I felt a burn on my back." 

"We need to go to the library." Hannah spoke. The 4 of us left to the library in town. Hannah looked all over and then went up a ladder to grab a book. We sat down and I was in pain. Hannah scanned through the book and stopped.

"Here!" She exclaimed. 

"What?" Jaiden and Destiny asked.

"Mates are synced through emotions and languages. If one half feels pain then the other will feel everything."

"I haven't marked her." I said.

"You guys had sex. That connected you guys. You marking her just enhances everything. It's only a little but once you mark her, you'll feel everything." Hannah explained.

"So that means Mel is getting hurt? She's getting tortured?" Jaiden spoke out. I growled in pain. I held the table.

"We have to find her. Fast." Destiny looked at me and I nodded. I left immediately home with Hannah. I knocked on the meeting room. 

"Come in." I went in to see my family and some of the royal vampire kingdoms.

"I'm sorry to interrupt but we need to help the Bluewater royals find their daughter. We work so closely with them and its been close to 2 weeks since she has been missing. Has anyone tried to reach the king and queen?" I asked.

"No. No one has been able to get ahold of them. We have tried and nothing."

"I need your help to find her. Her brother has tried to find her and nothing. I have been talking to her brother and best friends. Please." I begged my parents. They all looked at each other.

"You want to bring peace then find her. Unite with the kingdoms to find her. Whoever did this is most likely behind Adam and Dennis's death. They need to be put down." I said. My parents looked at me.

"This is why we want you to be the queen. You are determined to bring peace between everyone." Mother said.

"Levana, call Silas." Father said.

"No need mother." I seen a hologram of Silas in the middle of the table. 

"Silas, we need to help the Bluewater family. They are in need of help. We need many people to join on searching for her."

"Mother, I don't know why anyone cares for some stupid royal mermaid." I grit my teeth.

"Son, that is an order!" Father became angry.

"Cancel the search. I'll tell you myself."
