I swam around excited because today is the day.

"Finally! Week trip to beach house!!" I shimmied my hips. We heard the bell ring from the seashell shaped door. I went towards the door with Justin and he opened it to see Destiny.

----> Destiny is my bestfriend. She is an inch shorter than me (5'6) with wavy dirty blonde hair to the middle of her back. She's lightly tan with a teal pink tail with light black and hazel eyes. She is a little out going and plus no filter.

"Father, we are leaving for the beach house!" I yelled.

"Okay! Please be careful and Justin watch out for the girls and make sure nothing happens."

"Yes, father!" Justin yelled. We soon started swimming to the house.

Mermaids swim fast as they get older but if you're a royal then you are automatically fast so since Justin is older, he is faster than me but non-royalty who are older than me aren't faster than me. Makes sense??

Justin started swimming ahead and we couldn't keep up so every few minutes, he stopped and waited for us to catch up.

"Hey, want to race?" I smirked at her.

"Fuck yeah." We started racing.

Even though Destiny is a few months older, I am faster.

I was ahead and teased her.

"Slow poke." I said.

"Oh you're on." She said. She pushed forward and got ahead of me. We were laughing whiling swimming and spinning in circles doing tricks. We got tired and decided to stop racing.

'I wish Justin didn't have to come with us and have to watch over us.' I thought.

The reason I'm like this is because I'm strong enough to protect myself against vampires even though I never fought one but I've trained for if I ever encounter one that hasn't fed. Destiny and I took this week trip for some privacy and to get away from our families.

We decided to have a conversation while Justin was ahead.

"I am so excited to go to the mall." I said while clapping my hands.

"Same girl. We need to get new clothes."

"Aren't you guys at least scared about the attacks that have been happening. We should get rid of those creatures off the world." Justin said. My heart hurt a bit.

"That's harsh." Destiny said.

"It's the truth. They were the cause of everything. You don't see us mermaids starting shit." He said.

"Yeah but there are good vampires out there." I said.

"I'm going to have to disagree with you on that, baby sis. Those are blood-sucking demons whose only mission is to drain their victims. They are all the same." He was clearly upset I was defending vampires.

"We have bad mermaids. The sirens. The ones everyone know as mermaids who sing to draw people into the water and kill them. Doesn't mean all of us are bad. We don't kill people."

"It doesn't fucking matter. At least our parents are keeping them in control. You haven't heard any cases on sirens!" Justin raised his voice.

"Guy's let's not argue." Destiny tried to calm us down.

"You sound absolutely ridiculous? You only see the bad in the vampires and wanting them all dead when the vampires are probably having the same conversation as us. The good always overpowers the bad." I stood my ground.

"Whatever. Continue supporting those bloodsuckers." Justin swam ahead.

"You okay?" Destiny asked, worried.

Destiny knows how I am. I don't like when people raise their voice or yell at me. It makes me emotional.

"I hate when we have these arguments. We love each other and will have each other's back but when it's about vampires and mermaids, it's a different story. I want peace and I believe there are good vampires. I'm not going to lie that if we do encounter one of those bad vampires that I would be terrified. I just don't understand why vampires and mermaids have to hate each other. Like my family and the Sterlings always have meeting to keep peace but I know they might not like each other." I explained as we swam.

"I am in between. I have no side to choose but let's have a good week and not let this argument have an effect on our day or trip." I hummed.

"Thank you, Destiny." We continued to talk about different topics.

"We're here guys." Justin said. We swam up next to him before going up to the surface.

Our beach house is private so no one can see us transform when we get out of the surface. A good chunk of the population don't know what the Bluewater sons and daughters look like for our protection. My parents are normally having the meeting with the Sterlings. So we don't even know the sons or daughters of them.
