~ Chapter 24 ~

+Anubis's POV+

I stayed hidden with the trees of Jaiden's home. He had woods in his backyard so it was perfect place to hide. It's been a couple weeks since I followed him from the mall. 

"Mom, I'm going to a friend's house so I'll be back late."

"Okay, sweetie. Be safe with the vampire attacks happening."

"I will mom. I have my weapons hidden so I'll be safe." I seen Jaiden getting ready and I waited and waited, getting very irritated and impatient.

"Come out already." I see him shut off the light and I moved to the front to see him leaving the house. He started walking and I followed him to the house. I see about 6 cars in his friends driveway and I waited for hours.

"Okay, bye guys. I'll be heading out."

+Jaiden's POV+

I started walking back home. It was around 1 in the morning. I hummed a song to calm my nerves when I heard a sound and turned quick getting my weapon out.

"Who's there?" I asked. I heard more sounds and spun around. I got grabbed and my mouth covered. I got bit and froze. He started sucking my blood and I started feeling dizzy. He dropped me on the ground, and I slowly opened my eyes to see my phone. I grabbed it and called Mel. 

"Jaiden?" Mel sounded tired like I woke her up.

"H-help m-me. M-my l-location."

"Jaiden, what happened?! Are you okay?!" She was up now, and I heard nothing. I looked and the call ended. I had no service. I took a short cut home and it had very little service. I laid still for about a few minutes when I seen people. 

"Jaiden?!" I fluttered my eyes opened and it was Mel. 

"M-mel." She got on the phone. 

"Lili, I need your help." I barely heard the conversation, but I seen Mel rip part of her shirt and place it on my wound. I hissed.

"Who did this to you?" She asked.

"I d-don't k-know." My mouth felt dry and I felt so weak.

"Just stay awake and here with me, Jaiden." I see her tears fall. After about 5 minutes, I seen Lili.

+Lili's POV+

I rushed to where Mel's location was and I seen her hands bloody around Jaiden's neck. I gulp and turn away.

"What happened?" I asked.

"He was bit. He doesn't know who did it but I need help. Lili, please." I heard Mel's plead, and she was in distress. I took a few deep breaths and went to Jaiden. I knelt down and she wiped the wound. It was paler and I knew what was happening.

"You're turning into a vampire." I spoke.

"What?!" Mel said. I looked at her.

"He has to feed on human blood to complete the transition or in 24 hours he is dead. Whoever bit him also sucked his blood which is now making him a vampire." She looked scared.

"Were they hungry?"

"No. They did this on purpose. They had the intentions to turn him. They must know him and waited til he was vulnerable to attack." I explained to Mel. We looked and seen Jaiden pass out from blood loss.

"Jaiden, wake up." She shook him. 

"He'll wake up but once he does, it's going to rough. He will be okay Mel. Don't worry, darling." I wiped her tears but she couldn't stop crying. After a while, he woke up coughing. Mel went to him to check on him.

"What's wrong with him?" Mel asked.

"He is having the effects of getting bit. He is in hunger mode. He needs blood." She froze and looked at me in horror. It was silent and I looked at Mel.

"Maybe he can have my blood to save him"

"Absolutely not!" I said to her. "I will go to my house to get a blood bag from my cooler." I told her. She got up and held my arm.

"Lili, it's fine. He won't hurt me. Please. We need to save him." Mel said. Jaiden kept coughing and threw up blood.

"I promise. I won't hurt her. She's my friend. I can't hurt a friend." Jaiden struggled to say. I stayed quiet before caving in.

"Fine." I took out my pocketknife. I grabbed Mel's arm and looked at her.

"This is going to sting, my love."

"I know but if it saves Jaiden then I'm okay." I nodded.

"No biting or you will turn Mel. Just suck on her blood." I looked at Jaiden and he nodded. I sliced a small cut on Mel's arm. Mel went next to Jaiden and put her arm in front of his face. He looked worried but you see him struggle before he grabbed her arm lightly, sucking the blood. Mel shut her eyes and hissed. I see her open them and watch. His grip around her arm tightened and I seen Mel almost faint before I pulled her arm away from him.

"That's enough, you'll kill her." I said low and angry. He became worried and he backed away from her.

"I-I'm so sorry, Mel." 

"Fuck. Make sure she doesn't pass out. I'm going to run home and get supplies." He nodded and I laid her against him. I see her struggle to move. I rushed home and grabbed the first aid kit from my bathroom before leaving back to them.

+Jaiden's POV+

While Lili left back home, I was watching Mel. I felt so much guilt with her looking lifeless.

I drained her blood. I don't want to lose her as a friend.

"Mel, stay wake. Lili is almost back. Please don't pass out." I held her. I seen Lili and she passed out.

"She passed out, Lili. Oh my god I killed her. I'm so sorry." She checked Mel.

"She's okay. You drank a lot of blood but not enough to kill her. We need to get her fixed and to my house." I nodded. She picked Mel up after wrapping her wound but then paused.

"Nevermind, we can't go to my house. My family are vampires. She will be in danger." 

"We can go to my house." She nodded. 

"Keep up." She said. I was confused.

"Since you're a vampire now. You have strength and speed. You could have powers but I will help you with everything. I'll teach you control."
