My Sweet Mermaid

~ Chapter 48 ~

I looked at Mel on the table at the medic room in my town. Her family, mine, her friends, and Sam's family. 

Wake up, my love. Please wake up.

I heard a knock and I looked up to see Jaiden. I grit my teeth and got up.

"You." I said, cold. 

"Where have you been?" Destiny asked.

"I was with my family after Anubis and Silas released me."

"You were with your family when Mel's life was in fucking danger! Mel hasn't woken up in 3 days and we fought to survive but you were with your family while your friend was dying!" 

"My family was in danger too!" Jaiden yelled while crying. 

"You have no idea what I have been through! I was tortured and threatened by Anubis and Silas! They used my family as a threat if I didn't bring Mel to Anubis! If I didn't listen, my mother and baby sister would be killed! I had no choice, Lili!" He was crying.

"You were undercover for them this whole time?"

"So when Mel was missing the first time?" Justin asked.

"I drugged her to kidnap her but Silas compelled me and took her. I lost memory of it until Silas and Anubis told me. I was their puppet. I went through hell to protect my loved ones so forgive me for being gone. My family comes first and I wanted to make sure they weren't harmed." 

"Please stop fighting. We are still drained from a few days ago." Alec said. I sat down while looking at Mel.

"So, it is true." Jaiden said.

"Is what true?" 

"That you bit Mel. Turned her."

"Well I bit her but she hasn't waken up. I'm just hopping I didn't kill her." 

"Lili, go get rest. You haven't slept in days." 

"I'll be fine, mom. I need to be here when she wakes up."

"She'll wake up."

"I don't care. I'm staying by her side." 

"Where is Anubis and Silas?" Jaiden asked.

"They escaped. Once Mel was on the verge of death, they took the chance to escape. The whole battlefield went quiet for Mel."

"We have to go find them then." Jaiden said.

"It's no use. They could be anywhere is this world. Mel is important right now." Ondina said. I heard a beat and I stood up.

"M-Mel?" It was silent in the room. Not a single word out of anyone, like the world stopped, right then and there. I slowly seen color go into her body. Her wounds were healing. The bruises disappearing and her hair changed color. Her hair that was once was dirty blonde with pink tips was now dark brown with red tips. She gasped and sat up. Her eyes opened and they flashed a bright red color. Her heartbeat picked up and she looked around the room. 

"D-dad." She went to get up.

"Woah woah woah." Everyone tried to get her to stop.

"Sweetie, he's gone." She stood frozen and she sat on the table. She shook her head not believing any of the words told to her. I seen it in her eyes. I felt it. I felt everything she was feeling. The pain in her heart was clear as can me. 

"Anubis killed him, Mel. He almost took your life too." I said. She looked at me and her eyes watered.

"He's gone." 

"Where is he? Where is Anubis?" 

"He fled while everyone was worried about you. Both him and Silas."

"How did you know they were mates?" My father asked. 

"I watched everything from above as I was trying to escape. I watched as Lili threw Silas in a pillar. Anubis was worried and scared for Silas. He caressed his cheek and held his hand. I knew right there, that they were mates and how Silas moved Anubis to take the damage." Mel explained. 

"Father's body?" Mel asked, looking at her mother.

"HE isn't your father." Justin said cold.

"He is my father. He raised me." 

"Raised you right not raised you to be with vampire then become a hybrid." 

"Justin, stop this." Destiny said.

"You are worse too, Destiny. You knew about their relationship and didn't tell us."

"It wasn't my thing to tell. She is my best friend and you don't do that to a best friend. She loves Lili and Lili loves her. They are bounded together now and you can't control that. She is much more powerful now. You seen that when she had the trident in her hand. The king's trident. You can deny it all you want but she is your sister. You lost your other sister, don't lose another one." Destiny backed me up.

"Don't be like father. You'll know once you find your mate." Justin scoffed and left the room. I looked at Levana and she had a hurt look on her face. 

"Levana." She looked at me and I tilted my head. She left the room immediately.

No way.

"Let's go. You need to feed to complete the transformation." She nodded. She looked at her family and started to take a step but then got scared.

"It's okay, sweetie. You need to learn this new side of you. You don't have to be scared."

"Sissy." A little girl walked up to her.

"Cece."

"Will you be okay?" Mel knelt down.

"Yes, I will be. I'm super strong now so I can take care of the beach house while Justin helps out the kingdom. You have to be strong. Don't be sad." Cece hugged Mel tight while tears fell down.

"I don't want to lose you." Mel hugged her back.

"You won't lose me." Mel looked at her other sister. She opened her arms and Ondina hugged her while crying.

"Our family fell apart." Ondina cried out.

"Ondina. Cece." Mel broke the hug.

"Dad will be watching you. He taught us to be strong so you have to be. For him and for yourself. You have to help Justin protect Mom. You have duties to the kingdom now. You have to help our people out. I will be back home soon. I just have to get used to my new life before I can go back home. I want you to call me and tell me all about school and your friends. About all the good deeds you've done." Mel caressed their cheeks.

"Goodbye." They hugged again before breaking it so they could get up.

"Mom." Mel said before hugging her tight.

"Don't be sad sweetie. Everything will be okay. You're strong and independent. You'll do just fine until you come back home. We will miss you dearly."

"I love you all so much." Mel said.

"We love you too." Her mom wiped her tears and kissed her forehead. She hugged Destiny.

"It's okay. I'll be fine. I know we will keep in contact."

We made one look back at everyone. Her family stood in front of me.

"Please take good care of her."
