~ Chapter 37 ~

+Mel's POV+

"Lili, what is going on?" Lili was in my room.

"I will explain but I need you to leave a note for when Destiny and Justin get back from their swim. We have to leave for a bit and no one can know about it, not even your best friend and brother." 

"What? Where are we going?"

"It's for your safety, Melony. Please listen to be. It's my plan to get you safe and Silas out of hiding. He knows where you live and it's not safe for you. I don't know why Destiny left you alone."

"Jaiden is on his way though."

"Melony, please!" I raised my voice slightly and looked at her with concern and worry. "Just please listen to me. If we don't leave fast, who knows what could happen. I ran around the room packing up her clothes and essentials. 

"Will they be safe if I leave?" She held my wrist.

"I have my best guards surrounding the house. This place is safe for your family but for you, no." 

"Then why can't I stay?" 

"Because Silas is running around with whoever he is with, waiting to take you again. I can't have that happen so we need to get to the safe house."

"Okay." I got everything into the trunk of the car while looking around. She came out and got in. I started driving. We arrived to the airport. We got out and went inside after I parked in the parking garage across from the port. I walked up to the ticket counter. I gave them my ID.

"2 tickets to here." I pointed to the location. 

"Yes, Miss Liliana." She printed out our tickets and we went to our concourse. Once we got through, we sat down.

"So what is going on? Exactly." 

"I will tell you when we land." I said while giving her a new phone along with me. I turned off locations and shut the phones off. I shoved them in my bag. 

"Flight to Phuket, Thailand is now boarding." We got up and started walking. We scanned our pass and walked through the gate. Mel anxiety was bad. I felt her sadness and worry. She was scared but she tried hiding it. We sat in first class and got comfortable.

"It's going to be a long flight so get some rest." She hummed.

+Jaiden's POV+

I arrived to Mel's but I didn't hear a heartbeat. I ran in the house looking and didn't see Mel.

"Mel!" I yelled but no answer. I seen her closet was half empty and everything in her room was untouched. I seen an envelope on her bed. I opened it and read it.

Dear Justin, Destiny, and Jaiden,

I have to leave but don't worry, I will be safe. Silas is still out there and could come after me at any moment with his new ally. I am in danger and as long as you guys are near me then, you will be in danger and I can't bare to let something happen to you guys. I can't see you guys harmed. Please don't worry about me. I will be home when things clear up and they find Silas. I love you all and take care.

I went downstairs and as I did, I seen Justin and Destiny walk in from the back.

"Oh, Hey Jaiden." Destiny smiled.

"What happened?"

"Mel is gone." Their eyes widened and they came over. I handed them the note. They read it and sat down.

"I failed." Justin spoke out.

"What?" Destiny asked.

"I was sent with you guys to protect you while we had a small vacation. I failed to protect my parents and siblings from the ambush. Now I failed to protect my sister to where she fled to protect herself. I failed as a future king and as a older brother. This shouldn't have to happen. She shouldn't be protecting me. It should be the other way around." Justin held his head.

I'm so sorry. This is my fault. Everyone is in danger because of me.

I put my head down and left.

"Jaiden!" I ignored Destiny calling me. 

I arrived and Silas was sitting with Anubis.

"Come with good news." Anubis said.

"Actually, it's something worse. Much worse." They looked at me.

"What do you mean, worse?" 

"Mel has left. She ran from home." Anubis threw a dagger and it missed my head. I fell back and looked down.

"That little mermaid ran!" 

"Seems like my sister fled also." Silas tossed his phone. 

"Those two are making me very angry." Anubis flashed his eyes. He appeared in front of me and I was scared for my life more than I was before.

"I've given you many chances to kidnap her and you fucking fail everytime." 

"It's Lili. She get's in the way before I can do anything. I am trying my hardest to get her to you. I thought I finally had her but she was gone by the time I got to her house."

"You aren't trying your hardest otherwise she would be right in front of me, getting tortured!" 

"Please don't do anything to my family. I'll try to find out where they are."

"If you keep this up, I'll just kill you family to watch you suffer." I shook my head.

"Please I beg of you, don't do anything to them. I really am trying. I'll get her to you, I promise." 

"Get out of my face." I immediately left to my home. I was on my bed, petrified for my mother and sister. He easily beats me in strength and intelligence. He has control over me and it's never going to be a win for me. I held my head, crying. Sobs came out as I was in my thoughts. I gripped my hair as my thoughts were screaming for help. For reassurance that I was going to win. That I was going to save my family. That I was going to save Mel. I want to believe them but I can't because of him.
