My Sweet Mermaid

~ Chapter 13 ~

+ Around 6:30am+

I woke up to coughing and picking my head up to see Justin holding his chest and I jumped on him, engulfing him in a hug. He groaned.

"I'm so glad you woke up. I was extremely worried. Are you okay?" I backed up, asking.

"Yes. I just had a nightmare from that vampire attack but it was you and Destiny. You were injured, badly." I felt him shaking and I hugged the side of his head with my chin on his head. He hugged me back.

"Nothing will happen to me. Both of us are okay. I'm going to try to get some sleep." I backed up and he nodded.

"I'll be in the living room, playing video games. Breakfast will be made for you girls when you wake up." I hummed before leaving to my room. 

+Justin's POV+

I got up and went to the living room to play video games for a couple hours before going to the kitchen to cook breakfast.

Simple breakfast classic: Pancakes, eggs, bacon. and fruit medley with orange juice. 

I heard footsteps and glanced over to see Mel rubbing her eyes.

"Do you need help?" She asked.

"Actually, I just finished. All I need from you is to wake Destiny up for breakfast." I smiled and she left. I set up the table and finished just in time when the girls walked over. 

+Mel's POV+

We sat down and made our plates. While eating, I asked Justin a question.

"Justin, can Destiny and I go to the skate park?" It was silent and I was hoping he wouldn't say no.

"Yes but I have to come with." I nodded. We finished and cleaned up before heading to our rooms to change. Destiny took a shower while I got dressed. I put on a black decal crop top with blue ripped jeans, and black high-top Jordans. I fixed up my hair and looking in the mirror and smiled at the bracelet Lili gave me. I went to the garage to find my skateboard that was Justin's until he got a new one and I kept this to fix up and make better. I grabbed another skateboard before I waited in the living room for Destiny and Justin. 

They came down and we headed to the park. We listened to music since it was silent the whole drive there. We pulled up and I got out first. From afar, I seen Dennis and Adam.

"I invited Adam and Dennis." I nodded but then my eyes widened when I seen Lili walk up to them with her longboard. 

"Lili!" I yelled a bit loud and they all looked over. I jumped and looked at Justin to see his jaw clenched.

"Justin, we met her at the party and there are no issues."

"She saw you guys in mermaid form." Justin looked at me and you can tell he was a bit angry.

"Justin. Humans, Vampires, and Mermaids live amongst each other. She doesn't know we are royals so everything is fine. She apologized for intruding into our home. Everything is cleared up and she is a cool person." I explained. I got him to calm down and we walked towards them. Lili gulped and we started riding through the trails. I went low without knowing Lili was behind me and then she went next to me and Justin looked at me. I gave him a thumbs up. I stopped skating and so did Lili.

"We should talk." She nodded and I shot Justin a text.

Me: Hey me and Lili are going by the playground for a break.

Justin: Okay. Be careful.

We headed to the playground and sat at a bench in the shade. 

"What's on your mind?" Lili asked.

"Last night, there was vampire that ripped a girls throat. Justin was able to save her but he drained his energy and went into a deep sleep. Normally, we wake up within an hour but he didn't wake up at all through the night until around 6:30 and I was so worried, Lili. I was afraid he wasn't going to wake up and its horrible what happened to that girl." I got emotional and felt tears. I looked at Lili and she was saddened.

"It's been difficult. Trying to get them out of hiding but so many of them escaped and no strategy worked for capturing them." Lili hugged me tight and I cried in her chest. She rubbed my back with one hand and caressed my head with her other hand. We were like this for a while before I felt Lili's grip on me loosen.
