My Sweet Mermaid

~ Chapter 41 ~

We were meeting Samuel in 2 hours at the restaurant. We were getting ready for this reunion dinner. I wore a black button up tucked tightly into my white dress pants. I put a white vest on to go with the pants. I styled my hair and got it to how I wanted it. I went down to check my phone and see we were leaving on time. 

"Baby, I need help with my dress." I turned and seen her come down. 

Woah.

I froze as she walked down the stairs holding her chest. I had no idea what she bought because she wanted me to wait outside the store. She wanted to surprise me and she sure did because she was gorgeous. Her beauty froze me in my place all over again like our first time meeting. 

She was in a long teal dress that hugged her body so well. The top was corset style and had an A-line with gems and fabric going across the front. She had a 2 shoulder silk straps on her left but one of them off the shoulder while her other side was bare showing her shoulder and chest off. The bottom had a slit down the dress from the top of her leg, showing her whole left leg. She had another piece that was attached to the waist and went down the floor, a small train. 

She stood in front of me and I seen her makeup lightly done and her hair was lightly curled. I didn't realize I was staring until she spoke up.

"Lili, you're staring!" She yelled. I shook my head. I looked at her face and she was blushing.

"You look stunning." I complimented her. She smiled.

"Is this too formal? I thought it was pretty so I grabbed it." 

"No, Babygirl. It's perfect." I said.

"Can you zip up my dress?" I hummed and went behind her. I slowly zipped up her dress and I can feel her heartbeat going crazy like yesterday. I stared at the scar on her back as I zip up the back. I placed my fingers on the scar.

"I'm sorry." I mumbled. She turned and I put my head down.

"Lili, it's not your fault. It was Silas. It was his fault. Do not blame yourself for what he did to me." She placed her hand on my cheek. I looked at her as I shed a tear. She wiped it and gave me a sad look. 

"Baby, we will fix everything. Let's focus on this reunion dinner." I closed my eyes and leaned my face into her hand. 

"I love you." She said. I smiled and opened my eyes. 

"I love you too." We kissed before going to the front door to put our shoes on. I put mine on and knelt down on one knee. I grabbed a heel and put her foot in it. I grabbed the ankle strap and secured it. I switched the other foot and finished as I looked up her body to her face. 

Fuck it's going to be yesterday all over again.

 I got up and opened the door. She walked out and I locked up the house. I went to her side and opened it up. She got in and I closed the door. I started driving to the restaurant that Samuel wanted to meet at. After an hour, we arrived. I parked and got out. I opened Mel's door and held out my hand. She got out and I locked my car before walking inside. I seen Samuel at the VIP section. 

"Over here, darling." I placed my hand on her waist and we walked over to Samuel. 

"Sam." He looked up and smiled while getting out of the booth.

"Lili, it's been a while." We hugged. 

"You've grown up well." We broke the hug and he looked at Mel excited. 

"This is Mel, my girlfriend. My mate." Samuel looked at me, shocked.

"You found your mate?" I smiled.

"Yes but it's a bit of an issue right now." 

"It's so nice to meet you, Mel." Sam held out his hand and Mel shook it.

"It's nice to meet you also. Lili told me a bit about you." We sat down. 

"There are quite a lot of people." 

"Yes but there are invisible barriers around each VIP booth so no other person can hear our conversation." Mel was definitely confused.

"It's definitely confusing and hard to explain." Sam laughed.

"It opens the barrier to waitresses and waiters." I said. Mel nodded. 

"So why is there an issue with the mate thing?" 

"She's Melony Bluewater." His eyes widened and he looked at Mel.

"As in the mermaid who went missing? You're royalty." 

"Yes." He looked between us.

"Okay now I see the issue. So that's why you guys are here?"

"Yes. My brother kidnapped Mel and tortured her, knowing it would get to me. I became the heir to the throne when he got thrown in the dungeon but he escaped and made a new friend so I told my parents that I will fly her out the country. No one knows where she is but my parents. Silas is on the run and I can't risk what he did all over again." 

"Wow, that's a twist I never expected." 

"Yes, I think all of us were a bit caught off by it." 

"Why can't she go back home?" 

"My kingdom is under Liddell Clan's control. An enemy clan. The king wants me to marry his son so I had to stay on land and was unable to go back home. I was able to do my daily swim but I couldn't go far and had to be very careful." Mel explained to Sam.

"I am so sorry, princess." 

"That's why we are trying to get everything fixed by luring them and trapping them." He nodded.

"That's smart and with them not knowing your location. They probably think you are still home but hidden." 

"Exactly."

"We wanted to make seem like she could be on land or in the ocean. This world is big so they would be looking forever for her. They wouldn't know where to look." 

"I knew you would be future queen. The way you were with me and my family. I saw it." I smiled at Sam. 

"Thank you. How is your family?" 

"They are vampires now."

"What? I thought they were humans."

"A vampire group got a hold of them while they were out on a date. I went to find them and see their state. I helped them through it and it took a very long time but they have accepted it and are still happy." Sam explained.

"I'm so sorry." 

"So I knew how long you guys have known each other but exactly how did you meet?" Mel asked.

"Lili rescued me when I was 12. A drunk vampire turned me while I was at a gas station grabbing a snack near my home. Lili helped me and taught me everything I needed to know. She became like an older sister to me. She cared for my family and helped them so we will help her if she was in need." I nodded taking a sip of the champagne. 

"That sounds like Lili." Mel smiled.

"You guys are a beautiful couple." Sam said and Mel started blushing. 

"Thank you."
