My Sweet Mermaid

~ Chapter 3 ~

Recap: Melody, Justin, and Destiny head on their long journey to the Bluewater beach house. Melody and Justin get into an argument.

"Ah finally."

After what felt like forever, we finally reached our beach house. We are now fully clothed in our human form. We went inside to rest for the night.

"I'll take a shower first." Justin said. We nodded. Me and Destiny sat on my bed talking.

You're probably confused like 'Shower? Won't he grow a tail if water splashes him?' Well, you are... correct. Sike. Not some H2O: Just Add Water or Mako Mermaids story. We are normal so showering won't affect us. That's one of adapting abilities. We only grow tails with extreme salt water. Our beach house only has a very small amount of salt water not as bad as the sea. If someone dumps fresh water on us, it won't affect us.

I'm finally glad to be back after so many years.

"The last time me and Justin were here was right before Justin turned 18." I started the conversation.

"So 5 years ago?" Destiny asked questionably not sure if she is correct.

"Yeah, we stopped coming because when Justin turned 18, he started taking on royal responsibilities and Dad wouldn't let me go by myself." I explained.

"I'm sorry Mel. I know you enjoy the beach house but once these attacks stop maybe your dad will let just me and you come here for a weekend here and there." I nodded.

"That would be amazing." I replied. We then heard a knock on the door.

+Justin's POV+

I'm glad I finally got to leave the house and get a break from all the royal duties I had since I am next in line for the throne. It sucks I have to watch over Mel and Destiny even though Mel can protect herself, but I guess Dad doesn't think she can.

I finished washing my body and hair. I turned off the water and dried myself off. I looked for my clothes and then realized I didn't bring any because I ran straight to the bathroom. I wrapped the towel on my lower half and peeked out the door to make sure Mel and Destiny were in Mel's room. I saw no one so I walked into my room to get dressed. I put on my boxers, grey sweats and a white muscle tee. I walked out and knocked on Mel's door. I opened it once I heard a 'come in'.

"You or Destiny can take a shower now that I'm done." They nodded.

+Mel's POV+

"We need to figure out what we want to make for dinner." I stated.

"I'll find something while you guys take your showers."

Destiny got her clothes and headed to the bathroom. I went into the kitchen to see Justin searching. I went to the walk-in pantry and started helping him search.

"All the food we have is expired since it's been a while." Justin somewhat raised his voice.

"I guess we are going to starve tonight and tomorrow you and destiny can go to the mall since y'all want to go clothes shopping and do girly things. After that you guys can go food shopping."

"Wait, why can't you go get the food while we are shopping?" I asked.

"I'm going to meet up with some friends at the park."

"I thought you were supposed to stay with me and Destiny cause of the attacks."

"Baby sis you know how to take care of yourself and I'm pretty sure Destiny does too. If you need me, call me and I will rush back."

"Promise me that if I call you, you'll answer." I said trying not to sound scared.

Destiny came into the kitchen.

"Hey Destiny we don't have any food, so we are going to have to starve tonight. Tomorrow we're going to go clothes shopping then food shopping while Justin is with his friends." I stated.

"Okay. I'm gonna head to bed since I'm exhausted from the long swim." Destiny started walking away.

"Goodnight!" Justin yelled.

"I'll be there in half an hour! I'm going to shower real quick!" I yelled.

"Okay I'll probably be passed out by then!" Destiny yelled back to me.

Justin walked back to his room and I went to take my shower. I was planning to take a quick shower but once the hot water hit my skin, it became relaxing and I stood under the water for a while just listening to my thoughts.

I really hope we won't encounter any vampires that are attacking everyone. I never actually fought a vampire before but I've trained, it couldn't be that hard could it?

I eventually snapped out of my thoughts running through my mind and started washing my body and finally started washing my hair. I grabbed the strawberry scented shampoo and conditioner and scrubbed my hair. I let the water run down my hair for a minute before making sure all the shampoo and conditioner was out.

I looked at the clock on the wall and realized I've been in the shower an hour. I got out after relaxing under the water a little bit longer. I threw on a beautiful turquoise nightgown and dried my hair off a little bit with the towel before I went back to my room. When I opened the door, Destiny was passed out sprawled out on the bed.

I laughed quietly while looking at Destiny. I didn't want to wake her up and ask her to move over so I can fit on the bed.

I decided to go lay on the couch in the living room and sleep out there. Before laying down, I made sure all the doors were locked and shut lights off then went to bed.

 I was on some floor. I heard screams and looked up. We were on some big Greek architecture. The waves were bad and I saw mermaids and vampires fighting. My eyes widened. I looked and seen a long bridge going to the land.

"It's over for you!" I looked and seen my dad dragging a vampire.

"YOU'RE FAMILY IS AT FAULT! THEY TEARED MY PARENTS APART!" The vampire yelled. I looked and saw my mom fighting a vampire along with Destiny and Justin. I ran to my father who was near the edge with the vampire.

"MERMAIDS ARE NOT TO BE WIHT VAMPIRES! THAT IS THE RULE! IT'S FORBIDDENED! MY FAMILY DID WHAT WAS RIGHT! My dad yelled fighting with the vampire.

" THEY WERE IN LOVE AND I WAS THEIR CHILD! I DON'T EVEN KNOW MY PARENTS BUT THE STORIES OF THE WAR FROM CENTURIES AGO! YOU TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME AND NOW I'LL TAKE YOU AWAY FROM YOUR PRECIOUS FAMILY!" He yelled and ran towards my dad. He clawed my dad's eyes so he couldn't see. I screamed while crying. I went to grab my dad but the guy put his hand through my dad's chest and ripped out his heart. I froze.

"NOOO!!! I screamed out loud.
