Annie's Adventures

Chapter 49

I wake up to Marmalade licking my hair, I push her face away then give a big stretch, I roll over and play with Marmalade as she tries to lick my hands, not long after that Mum wakes up, getting out of bed and heading to the bathroom, she comes out and gets dressed then lifts me out of the crib and dresses me while talking to me.
Our morning routine starts again as we head downstairs tend to the animals, make breakfast and sort horses out while I watch her.
"I shouldn't be saying this but I can't wait til you're old enough to help around here, I just know it's gonna be so much fun!" Mum says picking me up from the pack n play after she had sorted the horses, we headed back inside ate our breakfast then packed into the car, we headed to doggy day care to drop off the dogs there, then finally to baby day care,
"Have a great day babe" Mum says as she kisses me and hands me over to Emma, and heads to work.
"Good morning Annie!" Emma says cheerfully but I'm too focused on looking for Paige, I glance over the babies laying on the mat
"You looking for Paige?" Emma asks as she walks over "she's right here"
Emma says as she lays me down next to her, I smile and look at her, she does the same, we play together in our own imagination way, we all end up rolling around, rolling across the room and exploring, causing Emma and Darcey to run after and keep a close eye on all nine babies making sure none of us were getting into trouble or getting into dangerous things, I look over as I hear Emma calling Tracey's name firmly.
"Tracey no! Don't do that, come here" I see Emma running over to Tracey who was trying to play with some cables, Emma picked Tracey up and moved her to a safer place then went and tided up the cables.
"We really need a play pen at this rate." Darcey says as she grabs Poppy who's trying to pull a plant over,
"Yes or baby proof this room better" Emma replies as she rushes over to stop Sophie going into the kitchen.
'It's a chaotic day today' I thought to myself as I watched the going ons.
In the end Darcey and Emma decided to put us all in high chairs for an early lunch,
"We'll give them an early lunch and put them down for a nap and while they are napping we can baby proof this place more."
Darcey nods in reply
"Yeah, although this room was always fine"
Once we all ate our lunch we were put down for a nap, I fell asleep immediately as I was so tired.
I wake up a few hours later rolling over and rubbing my face on the sheet giving a little sleepy moan before rolling onto my back and looking around, I rub my eyes and notice the room is empty except Paige who's playing with her feet in the next cot over from me. Paige turns her head when she notices that I'm awake and stares at me smiling, I stare back at her until Emma comes in to check if we're awake yet, she sees that we both are so she calls Darcey and they both come in to pick us up from the cribs and through to join the other babies on the mat. I noticed that the room looked different, Emma and Darcey had been hard at work while we were napping! I looked around exploring with my eyes as I was put down on the mat. We all played together and had a fun relaxing afternoon, we didn't get into much trouble because of the new layout and the room was more baby proofed to meet our needs.
Before I knew it Poppy's and Tracey's mums were walking in to collect the girls, then it was, Sophie's and Hannah's parents, then Danielle's,  Rose's and Amber's parents came in. It was just Paige and I left, so we played together us four while we waited for our mothers to come and collect us.
We played for about half an hour and then Darcey had to get up to clean and tidy up, it was coming up closing time and they needed to tidy up and do the last minute things while Emma stayed and kept an eye on us two, once Darcey had finished cleaning and tiding up it was time for Darcey and Emma to go, Darcey got ready as Emma spoke up
"I'll stay with the girls, I've done it before with Annie, I'm just hoping Paige's mum does come as she's left the car seat here"
So Darcey waves bye and heads home, Emma sits on the mat and plays with us while we wait.
Where could our mums be? Mines sometimes late but Paige's mum always picks her up in time!
We played and played, eventually the janitor came to tell Emma that it's time to close the building so we had to go.
Emma sighs and gets us three ready, then James the Janitor helps Emma to carry all our things and us, James picks me up and carries me to Emma's car with Emma following, they put Paige in her car seat in the back so that they can just transfer her to her mums car when she comes, then she takes me from James and gets into the car cradling me. Emma turns on the car so that we stay nice and cool as it's hot outside.
We waited and waited and waited but no mother came, Emma tried calling Paige's mum and my mum, she called Paige's mum first, no answer, so she called mine, and she picked up
"Hi Emma, I'm so sorry I have been caught up at work there was an emergency and I had to tend to it" Mum says "I'm now on the way, I'm almost there"
"Ah okay that's fine, I'm with Annie  waiting in my car"
"Alright" and they hung up, then she tried Paige's mum again no answer, Emma sighed as Mum eventually drove into the car park, Emma got out of the car to walk over and meet her,
"Hi!" Emma says
"Hey, again in so sorry, I'm sorry Annie" she says taking me from Emma, she looked exhausted and dirty, like she'd been tackling something.
"It's okay. I've got Paige in the car too, her mum hasn't come either." Emma says
"Oh no! Well I'm glad I'm not alone in being late."
They giggle over the small joke and put me in my car seat, then they say their goodbyes and we head to pick up the dogs from day care, after that we finally headed home, we then did our usual routine, tackling the horses, tackling the animals and cooking dinner, changing into PJs,
Mum fed me my bottle while her dinner was cooking, once I finished my bottle she lay me beside her on the couch and fetched her dinner, then she brought it through, turned on the telly and ate while she watched.
When she finished her meal she put the plate down on the coffee table and lay down on the couch cradling me, soon she fell asleep while watching the telly, I looked up at her she looked so peaceful, I watched the telly for a short while before I nodded off to sleep too.
