Chapter 28

When I woke up the next day I was in my crib, I gave a big stretch and yawned. Mum heard my yawn and came over to me, "good morning sweetheart!" She says and I smile up at her, she bent down to pick me up from my crib, and lays me on her bed, she takes me out of my baby onesie and changes my nappy, lastly she puts on some clean clothes on me and carries me downstairs, she places me in my rocker where I watch her feed the dogs and cats, she also makes us breakfast, once everyone has been fed, I fell asleep in my rocker.
When I woke up again I was in my car seat and in the car, what felt like only 2 seconds later, we pulled into the car park of the baby daycare. Mum got out of the car and opened my side of the car,
"Oh you're awake! You slept through everything. I fed the horses and cow, let them out into the fields, moved you from your rocker to your car seat, put you in the car, drove to doggy day care, dropped off Lisa and Rex and then drove here, and you slept though all that!" While she was talking, she had unbuckled me and lifted me out of the car seat, grabbed my bag and had started walking to the entrance of the baby day care centre. Mum walked in greeted the receptionist and walked to the 0-6 month area, she walked in to see no babies on the mat,
"oh? Are we early?" Mum asked herself as she checked the time on her phone, just then Emma walked out from one of the rooms.
"Hi there! No you're on time, Danielle has a doctor appointment this morning, Paige is late, Ben is at Jack's because their parents are good friends, Jack's parents aren't working so they've taken Ben since Ben's parents are working. If the parent isn't working their babies don't need to come in.
Hannah's away on holiday with her family, Rose's parents have the day off so Rose is still at home,
Sophie, Poppy are also late,
Amber is unwell so cannot come in,
Tracey is in the hospital. So it's just four babies today." Emma says breathless after her long speech
"Ah I see, that's a shame that Amber is unwell, that's terrible that Tracey is in the hospital, is she okay?" Mum asks worriedly
"Yes yes, Tracey's fine, it's not her, her big sister had a bad fall so Tracey is visiting her sister for the day." Emma says as she smiles at me and tickles under my chin which makes me giggle
"I think we're just having a chilled day today bedsides a walk in the fresh air" Emma tells Mum
"Okay that sounds good" Mum replies as she hands me to Emma who holds me up so I can see Mum leaving,
"Bye Annie, I love you" Mum says as she kisses my cheek then walks out of the building, Emma helps me wave by lifting my arm and waving it,
"Bye Cathy, see you this afternoon!" Emma calls
I get put down on the mat and Emma fetches some toys, she plays with me while we wait for the next baby to arrive, fifteen minutes later Sophie's parents walk in with Sophie, Emma goes to help them, so I play on my own until Emma and Sophie join me, the three of us are playing together for another fifteen minutes and we hear someone arriving, Emma goes to attend to them, when Emma brings the baby over, I see it's Poppy, Emma lays her down next to us, but we all decided playtime was over because we were all starting to nod off so Emma put us in our cots in the bedroom, it's just a huge room like a ward and it has 12 cots in there, Poppy, Sophie and I are put into the three cots nearest to the door, we all fall asleep as soon as Emma puts us down.
When I woke up two hours later I looked around me, I saw that Sophie wasn't in her bed, but Poppy was still there, she was also walking up, I had woken up by now but I don't usually cry until a short while after I wake up, when Poppy woke up fully she started wailing, Emma came rushing in,
"Hush hush little baby, it's okay, shhh" Emma whispers to Poppy as she lifts her out and changes her nappy on the changing mat, there is two changing tables in the room, when Emma finishes Poppy she puts her back in the cot for safety while she changes my nappy, then she takes me through to the main room and I see Sophie and Paige lying on the mat, I smile and wiggle when I see Paige, I reach out to her Emma laid me next to her and went to fetch Poppy, I rolled over to my side facing Paige and she rolled to her side facing me, we played together with our hands, touching, holding hands, the baby stuff, we hear a awww from Emma and we spy her taking pictures and videos, we ignore her and continue bonding.
After a wee while Emma puts us all in high chairs and gives us our bottles, Sophie and I hold our own bottles but Emma had to help Poppy and Paige hold their bottles for them, when we all finished our bottles we were all put in a pram, Poppy and Sophie in a pram together and Paige and I were put in another pram together. Anna came from the other group to help Emma while they took us for a walk, Emma took Paige's and my pram while Anna took Sophie's and Poppy's pram. Emma and Anna pushed our prams out of the building, along the streets and into the nature park, they push us side by side down the path, it's about two miles, and we come to a lake, it has a walk path all the way round, we turn left and walk round, half way round we come to a bench, where Anna and Emma take a seat to rest after parking the prams, they have a wee drink and snack, chatting together, they also feed us our bottles, Sophie and myself holding our own bottles, Emma helps Paige and Anna helps Poppy, after our break, Emma takes photos of all of us before we set off again, walking right round the lake, and back up the long path, enjoying the views that are present until we arrive at the entrance, we get pushed onto the street and head towards Baby Day Care building, once we arrive Anna goes back to her original group, Emma unbuckles all four of us and places us on the mat she plays with us until our parents come to pick us up, Paige's mum is first, Poppy's Dad comes in next and then finally Sophie's and my Mum walk in together.
"Hey baby girl!" Mum's face lits up as she walks over to me and lifts me up, she gives me a big hug and kiss, she talks to me while we wait for Emma,
"Hi, we had a lovely day, Annie has made a new friend, Paige they were playing together, I took a video here I'll show you" Emma said as she showed Mum the video she took of Paige and I earlier
"Aww so cute! Can you send me that please?" Mum asks
"Yeah sure I'll send it tonight, here's some pictures from Friday." Emma replies
"Okay thank you" Mum says as she heads out
"bye Emma! See you tomorrow?"
"Bye Cathy and Annie, yes see you tomorrow!"
Mum walks out to the car park and heads to her car, she puts me in my car seat and buckles me up and then gets in the drivers seat and drives out of the car park, she drives to Doggy Day Care to pick up Lisa and Rex, "Annie did you have a good day today?" Mum asks I nod my head and blabber away
"Oh sounds fun! I had a great day too, it was fun at work and to end my shift I had a nice ride on Max, we worked on one thing we each needed to work on then we ended our session with a few jumps, it was lots of fun!" Mum says as she pulls into the car park of the Doggy Day Care, she gets out and goes to fetch the two dogs, I smile and kick out in excitement when I see Lisa and Rex jump into the boot,
"Are you excited that Lisa and Rex are back with us?" Mum says happily I reply with a nod as Mum closes the boot and gets into the drivers seat, then we set off again this time for home, Lisa puts her head between the headrests and looks at me, I smile and look back at her, we stay like this until we arrive at home, Mum gets out of the car and opens my door, she unbuckles me from the car seat, picks up my bag and then opens the boot to let the dogs out, she closes the doors and walks up to the front door, Lisa and Rex following, once the door was unlocked, we all walked in, Lisa and Rex went to get a drink of water and then headed to their doggy beds for a nap, Mum put me in my rocker and took her coat and shoes off, she took me upstairs, laid me on her bed while she changed into some comfier clothes, then she put me in my onesie after she changed my nappy, when she finished changing us she took me back downstairs and lay me in my little baby stand thing we have in the kitchen, from there I watched her cook herself some dinner, once finished she sat down at the kitchen table after moving me from my little baby stand to my rocker, she ate her dinner, put her dishes away then made me my bottle, she gave me my bottle, she talked to me while I drank, after my bottle I played with Mum with my toys, after a few hours, she lifted me up and curled up on the sofa, she lay me in the crook of her arm and we watched a movie on Netflix, when we were half way through the movie, I was S starting to nod off, so Mum paused the movie, lay me in my baby stand and made me a bottle, then took me upstairs to her room, lay me in my crib, she gave me the bottle, singing softly to me, I grabbed Bella and not long after I fell asleep.
