Chapter 48

I wake up the next morning, opening my eyes as I roll onto my back, I stretch as I look around, I'm in my crib. How did I get from Lynn's arms to my crib? I guess I'll never know.
I look over at the bed and I see Mum and Lynn sleeping together, I play with my hands and my feet while I wait. Eventually Mum's alarm goes off waking up Mum and Lynn, I hear groaning from their bed as they rub their eyes and stretch, then they get up and give each other a hug before coming over to my crib, they smile down at me as I look up at them and smile, Mum lifts me up and lays me on the bed to dress me as Lynn starts getting ready, once Lynn and I were dressed, Lynn takes me from Mum and heads downstairs so that Mum can get dressed, Lynn lays me in my bouncer while she lets the dogs out and feeds the cats and the rest of the animals, she then starts to prepare our breakfast and while she's doing that Mum comes downstairs dressed and with her hair up in a bun, she runs outside and comes back about half an hour later, by this time breakfast was ready so they sit down for breakfast, Mum finished first so she picks me up and offers me the bottle that Lynn had made, she feeds me that while Lynn finishes her breakfast and then cleans up, Mum thanks her and once I finished my bottle we got ready to go, our coats were put on, bags were packed and we headed out, Mum locked up the house while Lynn heads over to Mums car and straps me in my car seat, Mum then comes over and opens the boot for Rex and Lisa, all the dogs jump in excitedly, Mum had to ask Faith to get out, boot was shut and I watch as Lynn opens the boot of her own car then Faith jumps in her car and then Mum and Lynn give each other a big long bear hug, it was so long that I wondered if they'd ever let go of each other!
Eventually they did, Lynn got into the drivers seat of her car and Mum got into the drivers seat in her car, Mum pulled the car out of the drive way and starts driving down the lane, Lynn follows in her car, until we get to the main road where Mum and Lynn separate ways, they wave to each other as they drive in opposite directions.
I hear Mum sigh as she drives towards Doggy Day Care, the dogs excitedly run to greet the lady there, then we set off towards day care, I'm so excited that I start kicking the back seat, I hear Mum sniff as we drove along, and then silent sobs, I start mumbling and Mum peers in the mirror to look at me,
"What's up sweetie?" Mum asks her voice quavering, "don't worry I'm just missing Lynn"
She goes on to tell me how they struggle with saying goodbye to each other when they have to part ways, they have too much fun together and are so close that they hate being apart.
'I feel a bit like that with Paige' I thought, not quite understanding but I look out of the window. Before I know it Mum is driving into the carpark of the day care, she parks the car and rubs her eyes,
"Good thing I'm not wearing makeup today." Mum says as she unbuckles herself and gets out of the car to take me out of the car seat, then she grabs my bag and we walk into the centre, "morning Annie!" Emma cheers as we walk into the room, she takes me from mums arms planting a kiss on my cheek,
Mum hands her my bag and they have a brief chat before Mum runs off for work. Emma then lays me on the mat next to Paige, I was a little later than usual so the other kids were already there. I smile and coo to Paige,  I play with her, Danielle and Emma for a while, soon it was lunch time so we were all put out in high chairs and given our bottles, I drank hungrily, after we all finished our bottles we were put down for a nap, I rolled around for a bit before falling asleep cuddling Floppy.
  I woke up again a while later when Tracey cried to let Emma and Darcey know that she was up. I then started crying, I threw Floppy away grumpily as I rolled over to my other side and tried to get back to sleep after Emma collected Tracey.
I woke up once again about half an hour later and saw Paige lying quietly in the crib next to me, she probably didn't want to cry out incase she woke me... or so that's what I thought.
I also lay there quietly, I'm not much of a crier either.
There was another baby - Rose still sleeping but we didn't have to wait long before Rose woke up and started wailing, Emma and Darcey came rushing in, Darcey picked up Tracey and Emma picked up Paige, they took them through to the main room then Emma came back for me and soon I was back with the group of babies, then we were all transported to the assembly room, there was tables, high chairs, balloons, banners everywhere, the banners read "Happy Birthday!"
'What was going on?' I thought 'what's all this?' There was food and party poppers. I smiled as I saw Luke sat at the next table, he waves to me as he notices me, I wave back.
Luke and I cry every time the popper went off, it was too loud, Anna and Emma had to cradle us to calm us down, lots of partying was had, lots of food was eaten, then we saw someone walk on stage carrying a young boy, and everyone started singing Happy Birthday, then someone else brought cake with what I thought was fire on the cake, I watched in horror as the little boy was told to blow it out! He blew and everyone cheered. Then we all had cake well not us babies, the ones that were able to eat solid food had some cake. All this time I was glancing at everything taking everything in.
Once all the partying was done with we all headed back to our rooms, Emma and Darcey played with us until our parents came to pick us up. Rose's and Tracey's mum came, they collected their daughters and spoke to Emma or Darcey then left, one by one the babies went home, soon it was just Paige and I left, so we played together until her mum walked in, snatched Paige off the floor and left without a word, I watched after them sadly, Emma had to play with me to take my mind off until my mum got here to pick me up, I was always last to be picked up but I didn't mind too much, eventually she came walking quickly into the room breathless,
"Sorry I'm late!" Mum says panting,
"No worries, like I said before we're happy to look after the babies until their parents pick them up." Emma replies
"Thank you" Mum says smiling and turns to me "Annie! Hi! Did you have fun today?" Mum asks as I smile and kick about happy to see her again, she picks me up and cuddles me then takes my bag from Emma and heads out, she walks to her car throwing the bag into the back seat and strapping me into my car seat, after I was safely buckled she jumped into the drivers seat and we drove to doggy day care to pick up the dogs, Mum seemed in a happier mood now, which I was happy to see, I didn't like to see her sad like this morning.
The dogs jump into the boot once we arrived at the dog day care, Mum greets them then shuts the boot and has a brief chat with the lady there before jumping back into her car and driving home.
"Home time! Home sweet home!" Mum sings as we drive along the road.
Soon we arrive home and mum starts about with our routine, letting the dogs out, getting me out of the car seat and picking up our bags and heading inside, Mum sorts a few stuff then cooks dinner for herself, I got my bottle while her food was cooking, once we finished our dinner we headed back outside to the barn, I watched mum sort the horses out from my pack n play, once that was done we headed back inside and went upstairs to change into our PJs, then we went back downstairs again and this time we played together, after a while I start getting tired which Mum notices
"You tired honey? Me too, let's go to bed" she says as she gets up and heads to the back door to let the dogs out, then she turns off all the lights and picks me up to head upstairs, Mum gives me kisses on my cheeks before laying me in my crib with Bella and Floopy, finally she gets into bed herself and turns off the light.
The room becomes dark as our eye lids get heavy and close, we then arrive at dreamland.
