Chapter 40

I'm on the back of a beautiful palomino horse, we're galloping across the fields, her long white mane is flowing in the wind, I'm smiling happily as Princess's hoofs eat up the grass
"Woah" I say and Princess slows down, finally she halts and I lean down on her neck wrapping my arms around her, "I love you Princess"
I say as I pat her neck and then dismount, I look up at the beautiful big golden mare
"it's been so fun growing up with you for the past ten years. I then wrap my arms around her again and bury my face into her Snow White mane, and everything goes dark.
I open my eyes to see Marmalade looking down at me, I look around and start crying.
'I really enjoyed that dream!' I thought to myself 'I want to go and see Princess!' I cry louder waking Mum up, she rushes to me and picks me up
"Good morning Annie, it's okay, what's wrong?" She says patting my back and rocking trying to calm me down but I just keep crying and looking out the window,
"Do you need a nappy change?" Mum asks as she lays me down on the bed and changed my nappy but I keep crying even after the clean nappy,
"So it's not that, and you don't need a nap because you just woke up, are you hungry? Is that what it is?" Mum says as she heads down to the kitchen and makes my bottle then she attempts to feed me but I refuse the bottle, she keeps trying and I keep refusing, she gives up and puts the bottle down.
"What is it Annie? You want to see Paige? You'll see her today at baby day care" Mum says I stop for a second, look at her then look back out the window and cry again, Mum follows my eyes and looks out the window. "You wanna go see her now!? We need to get ready first, feed the animals. We're too early" Mum says checking the time, then she gets me dressed and herself dressed also, I cry through all this, Mum carries me downstairs and lays me on my playing mat, while I cry away, Mum quickly feeds the animals and heads out to the horses then she finally makes herself breakfast,
"I've left the mucking out for tonight so that we can go see Paige quicker" Mum tells me as she clears up, by this time I had stopped crying as I had given up and my cheeks hurt from crying, gathers our things then packs the car and picks me up, and carries me to the car, I start crying again and looking towards the barn, I kick around, Mum quickly lets Lisa and Rex into the boot and throws the bags into the car,
"What's up?" She asks as she walks towards the barn and enters, I look around looking for Princess, there was no horses in the barn, Mum keeps walking and opens the doors on the other side and walks down the path,
"you want to see Fred?" She asks as she points to Fred in the field"
I look at him then look around,
"No? Maybe you want to see Thomas?" She asks as she walks across the path and points to Thomas, i then see Sunshine in the next field, I stop crying and point, looking at her, but where's Princess?
"Oh you want to see Sunshine and Princess?" Mum says as she walks down the path to their field, I finally see Princess and I smile, I watch as she canters around her Mum, I giggle happily and wave my arms.
"Ah that's better, I love to see that smile. All that just for Sunshine and Princess, did you have a dream about them?" Mum asks, we stay there for about five minutes watching Sunshine and Princess then Mum walks back to the car after closing the door and straps me in my car seat.
"You'll have to have your bottle later"
She says as she closes my door and gets into the drivers seat, she then starts driving, this morning we go a different direction,
"Mummy needs some coffee" she says to me as we pull in the drive through, I listen as Mum orders,
"Thank you!" She says as she reaches for her coffee, she then drives off towards Doggy Day Care while sipping on her coffee, playing a soft calm music, I stare out the window watching the world go by.
Soon we arrive at Doggy Daycare, Mum parks the car then gets out and let's the dogs out, they walk up to the kennels and a lady comes out, greets the dogs and has a quick talk with Mum then goes inside with Lisa and Rex while Mum jogs back to the car, she jumps in and drives off once more, I start kicking about because I know that it's now my turn to get dropped off at Baby Day Care and I'll soon see Paige!
"Ah now you're excited to see Paige!" Mum says looking into the Mirror to see me, i coo happily and babble away, Mum smiles as we drive on, soon we pull into the parking lot of Baby Day Care and park the car, then she gets out and unstraps me from the car seat, lifting me up and walking around to get my bag, we turn and start to walk to the door when we see Rose and her Mum walking to the door as well.
"Hi! I'm Rose's Mum! You must be Annie's Mum!" Rose's mum says
Mum nods
"Hi! Yes I'm Annie's Mother, nice to meet you!"
They chat as we enter and walk to 0-6 month section, Rose's Mum and my Mum lay us down on the May giving us a toy each, I look around for Paige, she's not here yet, so I play with Rose.
"Bye love!" Rose's Mum and Mum both say they wave and walk out the room, few minutes later I see Mum running back in,
"Emma!" Mum says as she approaches her
"Yes?" Emma replies
"I forgot to let you know that Annie hasn't had her breakfast yet as she refused it this morning, her bottle is in her bag and will probably need warming up"
"Okay no problem I'll give it to her now"
"Thanks!" Mum says as she jogs off again, Emma then goes in my bag and finds my bottle, she takes it into the kitchen area and comes back five minutes later, placing the bottle on the table, she comes over and picks me up from the mat, sitting down on the chair and offering me my bottle, I drink hungrily, once I finished my bottle, I was out down on the mat again next to Paige, I play with her for a while, Emma and Darcey play with all of us, before we knew it it was time for our nap, so one by one we were carried through and put in cribs, one by one we all fell asleep.
I wake up to Tracey and Poppy crying, Emma rushes in and picks up Tracey, she tries to calm her down and takes her through, she comes back with Darcey following, they pick up each of us and take us through back to the mat, we play some more.
"We're just going to play some games and hang out today" Emma says
I notice Paige has a black eye, I reach over to touch it, and Paige winces,
"Oh look" Darcey says tapping Emma to get her attention and points at Paige's eye
"How did that happen?" Emma says
"I have no idea, I'll have to ask her parents" Darcey replies
I stare at Paige sadly. I wish I could ask her what happened and how she keeps getting bruises,
Before we knew it, our parents were coming back to pick us up, a tall man in a suit walks in, he glances across the room,
"Who's that? Who's parent?" Darcey whispers
"I don't know, maybe Paige's Dad?"
The man walks over to the mat and picks up Paige
"Are you Paige's Dad?"
He nods
"I am in deed, names Dean"
"Nice to meet you" Darcey says as she shakes his hand "erm, we noticed that Paige has a black eye, how did that happen?"
Dean quickly looks at Paige's eye then back up at Darcey
"Her big cousin was playing too rough again."
"Well can you tell him not to be so rough? Newborns are very fragile"
"I will" Dean replies walking off with Paige in his arms
Darcey and Emma look at each other, sigh and shake their heads, just then more parents come in to pick up their babies, Mum's last as per usual
"Hi!" She says as she walks in and smiles when she sees me, she heads over and picks me up, I smile up at her,
"Did you have a nice day?" Mum asks
"She did, she played with Paige all day!" Emma says
"That's good!"
"Here's some photo from last Friday!"
Mum takes them and thanks her then she walks out and heads to her car, she straps me in and drives off to Doggy Day Care, she gets out and smiles as Lisa and Rex are let out of the kennels by the staff and run up to Mum excitedly, Mum fusses over them and then opens the boot, which the dogs jump into, the boot closes and Mum jumps back into the drivers seat driving for home, we soon turn into the driveway and Mum parks the car then gets out and let's the dogs out then she unstraps me from the car seat and lifts me out then she gets the bags out and walks to the front door, unlocking tie house and entering, she lays me in my bouncer and sorts stuff out, then she takes my coat off and heads upstairs, she gets changed into her lounge wear and changes me into my pjs, once we were changed we headed back downstairs and head out to the barn, Mum mucks out and sorts the stables out while I play in my pack n play, I watch Mum bring in all the horses, I smile when I see them especially Thomas and Princess, soon enough all the horses were in the stables eating their dinners, Mum picks me up and walks out the barn and heads back to the house, she lays me down on the floor and plays with me for a while, Lisa and Rex are fast asleep on the sofa.
After a hour or two Mum moves me from the floor to the bouncer and heads into the kitchen to make her dinner and my bottle, she sits on the sofa and gives me my bottle while her dinner cooks, once I finished my bottle Mum's dinner was ready so she lays me in my bouncer then fetch's her dinner, I watch as Lisa and Rex stare at her while she eats,
"No, you two can't have any. You'll get your dinner soon" Mum says as she looks up and sees the dogs begging.
After a while Mum finishes her dinner then clears up and finally feeds the cats and dogs, after all the chores were done she settles down on the sofa with me in her arms watching a movie, I look up at Mum after a while and see her nodding off, soon she falls asleep, I lay there looking up at her and then I look around, I want Bella! After a few minutes I fall asleep in Mums arms.
