Chapter 5: Meeting Grandparents! (3 days old)

I woke up the next morning, Dad wasn't there but Mum was and she was getting dressed, she turned to look at me, she smiled when she saw I was awake,
"Good morning Annie! Did you have a good sleep?" I nodded and stretched out "do you know, its nearly nine o clock! You're such a good baby!" She smiled as she picked me up from the crib, she gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek then lay me on her bed while she got some clothes for me, she put a warm vest on and some cosy pink socks, along with a pretty pink thick dress, she then took a few pictures. Mum got a few extra bits then picked me up and carried me downstairs, she lay me in my pen where I played with some toys. She came back in with a bowl of cereal, a plate with toast on it and my bottle, she took me out of my pen and sat me on her lap to feed me, but today I reached up and grabbed the bottle! I held it there while I drank, when I was finished I let Mum take my bottle away, she let me play in my step n' play, while she ate her breakfast then Mum packed a small bag and went outside but came back for me she put me in my car seat in the silver car. I saw Dad rushing upstairs about ten minutes later Dad was back and changed, he locked the house and opened the boot, I saw Rex jump in the boot then Dad closed the door and jumped into the drivers seat, Mum was already in the car. We drove out of the car park, I fell asleep as the car was driving smoothly and the music was on quiet and calm.
An hour later I woke up when Mum was unstrapping me from my car seat, Mum closed the car door and carried me, to the front door, dad and Rex were already there, Rex was wagging his tail, the door opened and I saw a elderly woman standing there she had a big smile on her face, she hugged my Dad then bent down to fuss over Rex who had his tail wagging very fast, she invited us in, she gave mum a kiss on her cheek, "hello there Cathy! How are you doing!? And who's this?"
She said as she smiled down at me and tickled under my chin, "This is Annie our new baby"
"Ah how sweet, I'm now a grandma! I feel old!" They laughed at her little joke and went into the lounge, Mum sat me in my carseat that Dad must have brought in, she didn't strap me up, just tucked a blanket in round me, then everyone sat on the sofa and told each others news while drinking tea and eating biscuits, I looked around the room for a while then I fell asleep. I woke up again about two hours later when I heard laughing, Mum turned round to check on me after she had calmed down from laughing, she saw that i was awake so she lifted me out and sat me on her lap.
"Annie's such a easy baby" Mum said
"Thats good! You're lucky. Gary was a terrible baby! He used to cry all the time, and wouldn't behave!" Granny said and everyone except me laughed.
"should we go out and sit in the garden? Its a lovely sunny day" my Grandpa asked looking out the window
"Sure thats a good idea," said Mum so everyone got up and went out the back door, Granny asked if she could hold me, Mum nodded so she took me from Mums arms and gave me a hug, she began to walk down to the tree which stood in the middle of their garden, I heard grandpa follow with Dad, Granny turned round Grandpa stood beside her with me between them and Dad took some photos, Granny and Grandpa changed poses. After Dad had taken lots of pictures of me with everyone, we all sat on the garden chairs,Mum had fetched my car seat out and had placed it near the garden chairs, facing away from the sun I fell asleep the warmth of the sun on my face.
I felt someone kiss my cheeks but I was too sleepy to wake up so I just moved my head away and fell asleep again.
I woke up at last, I gave a big yawn and stretch. I looked around and saw that Dad was having a snooze on the sofa with Rex, I could see Marmalade and Tom sleeping in the small cat bed, Lisa was sleeping in the bigger dog bed, but Mum and Sooty were no where to be seen. I turned my head to the other side and saw a few toys from where I last played with, I saw my blanket so I grabbed it and held it in my hand, I closed my eyes and dosed for a while I woke up an hour later and saw that Mum was now sitting on the sofa with a laptop and was busy on it, she was smiling every so often at the screen, i was wondering what she was smiling about, she sighed and closed her laptop then looked up to see me, she smiled again and stood up, she walked over and picked me up for a cuddle then picked up her phone and took some photos of us together, then she put her phone away and carried me into the kitchen, we saw Sooty in the Corridor.
"Hello Sooty!"
Mum greeted Sooty and then bent down to check the oven, I looked up at Mum and reached up, I grabbed a chunk of her hair, I held it tight in my hand not letting go, I saw that Mum smiled and gave a little giggle, she put me in my new high chair, managed to get her hair out of my hand then put some oven gloves on and took a tray out of the oven, she closed the oven and sorted dinner out, she was having fish tonight with Dad, she served them then got the animals their feed and called Dad in they sat at the table, I watched them eat, an hour later dad rinsed and stacked while Mum fed me my bottle I grabbed and held my bottle again, when I finished she put me in my play pen then sat on the sofa and went on her laptop again while I played with some toys.
Two hours later mum gave a big yawn and stood up putting her laptop away,
"I'm going to turn in with Annie" she told dad,
"Ok I'll come in a bit" Mum picked me up and carried me to our room, she undressed me and tucked me into my crib then undressed herself and got into bed, I lay there for a while then grabbed Bella and closed my eyes and was asleep in no time.
