Annie's Adventures

Chapter 30

It was a beautiful summers day, we were at the park swinging on the swings, Paige and our friends were there, the grass was bright green, the skies were bright blue, and the sun was shining down on us, I had a bright pink dress on, Paige had a purple top and blue jeans on, we were smiling happily swinging away. The gentle breeze blowing on our face, through our hair.
"Annie wake up" I hear a distant voice, I look around looking for that voice, I was being pulled away from the dream, from Paige, I reached out to her, but I was too far away, I closed my eyes and opened them again, I was now in our bedroom and Mum was looking down at me smiling that beautiful smile of hers.
"It's time to wake up now honey"
I gave a groan, I was enjoying that dream! And it wasn't long! I kicked out at Mum.
"Hey! Why so grumpy this morning? I've never seen you grumpy." She picked me up, planted a kiss on my cheek then lay me down on the bed, she put on some clothes and carried me downstairs, we looked out of the living room window.
"Mmm looks like a normal day today, not raining but not sunny either, Mum lay me in my rocker while she feeds the dogs, cats and the horses then makes herself jam on toast for breakfast, while eating that, she made my bottle.
"time for your bottle Annie" she said as she picked me up and lay me in her arms then touched my lips with the nipple of the bottle, I opened my mouth, grabbed the bottle and drank hungrily.
I couldn't wait to see Paige at baby day care today, I squealed and kicked about excitedly when Mum put me in my car seat,
"Excited to see Paige today?" Mum asked and I nodded, finally she was able to buckle me in, she put the dogs in the boot and sat in the passenger seat, "ready to set off?" Mum called and pulled out of the driveway, she drove down the short path to the main road then drove to Doggy Day Care and dropped off Lisa and Rex, then she drove to Baby Day Care, Mum Parker the car, took me out of the car seat then walked in, to the 0-6 month old area, we saw Paige on the mat, I squealed again and wriggled about in Mums arms holding my arms out towards Paige, Mum walked over to the mat, Paige noticed me and started wriggling too, Mum lay me next to Paige, we rolled onto our sides facing each other, we put our arms over each other and made cooing noises to each other.
Mum smiled, took a picture then stood up to talk to Emma before leaving. I hadn't noticed Mum leaving because I was too focused on Paige. We cooed at each other and played, before we know it it was feeding time so Emma and Darcey placed all of us in high chairs and gave us our bottles, after our bottles, we were laid back down on the mat for an hour, then something new happened! Emma and Darcey put us in a circle, and put us all on our bellies, we all spent the next five-ten minuets trying to improve our neck strengths, mine was good and I can roll over but I needed to make my neck muscles stronger still, so I worked on that, finally we were all getting frustrated, I rolled over onto my back, we all played together for a little while then Emma and Darcey put us all down for a nap, very soon, 8 cribs were filled up and one by one we all fell asleep.
When I woke up two hours later, only four babies were still sleeping, I kicked about in my crib and talked to myself. Emma heard me talking to myself so she came into the room
"Wakey wakey Annie!" She whispered as she picked me up and carried me out of the bedroom area, where she changed my nappy and I was joined with the other babies, I was given a toy to play with, after a few minutes, one of the three babies awoke so Emma went to fetch her, she came into the room carrying Paige, I got excited and threw my toy, did a happy scream, Paige did too and wriggled so much in Emma's arms, Paige was put down on the mat near me while Emma changed her nappy, while they were doing that, I rolled onto my belly and tried my best to slide closer to Paige, Emma saw and speeded up changing Paige's nappy,
"Hang on Annie! I'm almost done" Emma says, but I don't listen and try to figure out how to get to Paige, finally Emma finished changing Paige's nappy, she lay her next to me, we played together after what feels like one minute the parents start coming in to pick up their child. Paige and I learned from what happened yesterday and said goodbye to each other before one of us was whipped away, just then Paige's mum walked in, when Paige saw her Mum she grabbed my hand, I grabbed hers back. Angelina tried to pick Paige up but our hands were joined, so when Paige was lifted, i was almost lifted too, Angelina had to put Paige down again, she tried to separate our hands but couldn't, Emma came over to help, she took a photo or two first then helped Angelina to get Paige and I to let go of each other's hands, once done, Angelina quickly picked Paige up while Emma held my hands, Paige started to cry, but Angelina walked out of the room with her, I watched them leave sadly. I wonder what was wrong.
A few other babies left to go home then finally my Mum walked in, Darcey and Emma greeted her at the same time
"Hello Cathy!"
"Hello!" Mum greeted back and walked over to me,
"hello! Annie! I've missed you today!" She says as she picked me up and gave me a kiss on the cheek".
"When Angelina arrived to collect Paige, Paige didn't want to let go of Annie's hand. It was so cute! Here I have a photo" Emma says  as she whips out her phone and finds the picture to show mum.
"Aww too sweet! They seem to have developed a strong bond already" mum says
"Yes, they have!" Emma replied
"I hope they'll still be able to see each other when they go to schools and such."
"Yes hopefully. I hope to stay in contact of them because I'd love to see them grow up and watch their bond and friendship grow!" "Maybe you will! Never know."
"True! So here's the photos from yesterday"
"Okay thank you, have a nice evening!"
"You too! Bye!"
"Bye bye!" Mum waves as she walks out of the room, then out of the building and to her car, she buckles me into my car seat, then gets into the passenger seat, starts the car and drives out of the car park, onto the main road, towards the doggy day care to pick up the dogs.
"I think when you leave the nursery I will give Emma my number then I can keep her updated." Mum tells me. I smile at her idea and watch the world go by outside.
After a wee while we arrive at Doggy Day Care, I wait in the car while Mum fetches the dogs, I smile happily when Lisa and Rex jump into the boot. Mum gets back into the passenger seat and drives out of the car park.
"Now for home!" Mum calls out to all of us. Soon we arrive, the routine is carried out, get me out of car seat, let dogs out, enter the house, put me in rocker, Mum heads upstairs to change and in a flash, she's back down in the living room all changed, with a set of clothes for me, she lifts me out of the rocker and lays me on the sofa, then she changes me, my nappy and puts on my pyjamas, then let's me play in my play pen while she cooks dinner.
"Pesto pasta and cheese for me tonight" mum announces as she walks into the living room with her plate, she sits on the couch, places a lap tray on her lap, sets her plate down on that then tucks in, I watch from where I am playing.
Once finished, she plays with me more, after what felt like 5 minutes but was 2 hours, she got up to make my bottle, next she carries me up to our bedroom and lays me in my crib, she gives me my bottle, I drink the warm milk and it makes me sleepy, soon enonugh I nod off to sleep.
