From behind a tree, the white and green form of Whispup watched as Thane was training with his team. The Loomian blinked in confusion. Everyone looked so happy and Thane ensured that the sparring match didn't devolve into a real fight. It was foreign. Whispup watched, trying to grasp the concept as Geklow and Slugling faced one another in their sparring match.
Slugling shot his vines forward at high speeds, to which Geklow reacted by flipping over them and firing Static Shock. The attack sent Slugling back. Thane smiled as the Loomians caught their breath. "Alright guys, good stuff! That's enough for now!" Both Loomians acknowledged each other with respect before moving out of the way so Embit and Paratweet could begin their match. Meanwhile, Whispup was stunned. He had called it off!? But, neither of them was bleeding yet! Whispup was in shock. He had no idea that was an option, Yuto had never done it before with him or the others. Intrigued, Whispup wondered what other strange things Thane would do, and kept watching.
Once Embit and Paratweet had tired themselves out, Thane prepared some sandwiches quickly and set the plates down before his team. After about an hour of eating, Thane began to pack up the campsite, much to the confusion of his team. "I want to make some progress today before it gets dark." He explained as he packed the last of their equipment.
Well, none of them could argue with that flawless logic.
So, while Thane and his team made the final preparations to leave, Whispup watched from the shadows. And when they set off, he followed close behind, sticking to the shadows and waiting for the next eventful display from Thane.
For today, Thane has decided to have his Loomians outside of their discs. It felt rewarding when he walked with his entire team. Thane took in a deep breath of fresh air as the trees swayed gently around him. In the air, Paratweet soaked up the sun while Slugling did the same on the ground. Geklow was munching on a cluster of grapes and Embit was perched on Thane's shoulder like always. It was a wonderful day.
Suddenly, the peaceful serenity was broken by a voice. "Hey, you there!" Thane let out a small noise of surprise and turned to the sound of the voice. His eyes landed on a clearing surrounded by trees on a slightly elevated hill. The first thing he spotted was the blue tents tucked into the clearing. If he strained his nose hard enough, he could smell the remnants of a dead fire. There was a man of dark complexion and green eyes standing at the edge of the campsite. He had his hands cupped around his mouth as he called out again. "Hey, you! Come here for a second kid!" Thane and his Loomians looked at each other before complying and approaching. "Yes, sir?" Thane asked politely.
The man looked him up and down. "Are you a trainer, son?" Thane blinked. Had his team, or the fact that he was traveling not made it obvious? "Uh, yeah. I am. Why'd you ask?" The man moved to reveal his troop of Boy Scouts. Now the man was chuckling and rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly, almost embarrassed. "You see son, I had planned a few day's camping trip for my scouts." Thane nodded. "Everything was going fine, we had all our supplies, but..." The man trailed off and Thane waited for him to continue. He coughed out a laugh before continuing. "Uh, we forgot, we forgot the repellent to keep the wild Loomians away." Thane blinked. What did he want him to do about it? "There are natural ingredients here to make some repellant, but none of us have any Loomians to protect ourselves if we run into wild Loomians."
That was stupid. That is what Thane thought and wanted to say. "Is there anything I can do to help?" That is what he actually did say. Sometimes, he was just too nice. Geklow and Paratweet both facepalmed as Thane roped them into this. The man looked grateful as he began to explain his plan. The ingredients weren't that far from the campsite, all he wanted Thane to do was have his Loomians patrol the area and accompany the boys as they collected the ingredients. Thane, Embit, and the man were to remain at the camp to ensure that the site was guarded. Seemed simple enough. Thane had no reason to object to the request.
