Thane had never felt more at peace than in this very moment. He, Lucas, and all their Loomians were lying on beach chairs on their wooden balcony. Thane hadn't expected to get so lucky when they picked a rental. It was cheap but spacious, and it came with a balcony. Granted, the balcony offered a stellar view of some gray rocks and grass, but Thane didn't care as long as the sunlight wasn't blocked.

Thane, Lucas, and their Loomians had just returned from a great spa one of the locals recommended, and they never felt better. Now, they all laid on the balcony, soaking up the sun's rays. Thane literally felt the stress evaporating from his body. "This is nice," Lucas commented, and Thane hummed in agreement.

From the doorway, Jake watched them with his arms crossed. "Come on guys, seriously?" In the latter half of his original journey, Jake never slowed down for anything like this. The stakes were too high. Now, when the opportunity to relax was offered, it seemed like an alien concept. "Come on Jake." Lucas encouraged. "This is great." Jake scoffed. "I thought we were going to use this time to train. You know, so we're ready when we go for the next stone piece. Besides, we're supposed to be helping Mabel train Starla, remember?"

Thane waved a dismissive hand as he sat up to sip his caramel Kabunga Cofee. "Come on, Jake. You gotta relax. Mabel went with Lucy for the day. We'll all get to training soon, but right now we gotta relax and unwind." He said as he laid back down. His Loomian team let out sounds of agreement.

Jake scoffed and went back inside. He re-emerged a few moments later with a book and a bottle of cold soda. He huffed as he walked past the boys and their teams and went to sit on the floor, legs dangling off the balcony. He took a sip of his drink before opening his book. "I hope the girls are doing something productive, at least." He shot back at his friends before looking down at his book and started to read.

"This is a bad idea," Mabel stated plainly. She held Starla in her arms and was staring wearily at the POLUT Corp research facility. The relaxation from the spa, coffee, and just the area had evaporated at the sight of the lab. "No, this is a great idea!" Lucy said with her hands on her hips and a smile. "This is a public facility. A tourist attraction! We might be able to find something." Mabel turned to her and shook her shoulder. "These people sent a war Loomian cracked out on dark energy after us! They polluted all of Sepharite. The Vanta Logs, remember those?" Lucy side-eyed her. "Yeah, they're also the people who saved Faust, and a bunch of other people, and gave Thane his powers."

Mabel groaned. "You know he hates it when we call it that." Lucy shrugged. "Yeah, but he's not here." She suddenly grabbed her friend's arm and started to drag her along with her. "Now come on, we might get some answers." "Can we at least call the others for backup?" She asked, but Lucy ignored her.

When the girls entered the lab, Mabel was taken aback. The large blue dome housed a large, circular-shaped lab. Researchers toiled on their computers and wires ran across the floor and walls. In the center of the lab was a large circular opening on the floor, leading to the ocean and blocked off by a railing. Above the opening was a yellow submarine. But that wasn't what caught Mabel off guard. It was how Lucy walked to the woman standing next to the submarine. "Hi." She greeted cheerfully. "I booked the submarine dive. I'm Lucy." The woman looked her up and down and checked a clipboard. After confirming, she turned to the girls with a smile. "Of course. Party of two?" Lucy nodded.

Mabel stared in shock at her friend as the woman explained how to operate the submarine. It was surprisingly simple. She also explained how anything that the girls found would be theirs to keep. Once they had been given the rundown, they were helped into the submarine.

Mabel stayed silent as the hatch closed behind them and they were dropped into the water of Lagoona Lake with a splash. Once Lucy started to take the submarine down into the deep, did Mabel find her voice. "What was that?" She demanded as she and Starla turned to Lucy. The blonde girl shrugged. "What? Ever since this opened I always wanted to check it out." She explained. Mabel's mouth fell open. "How did you even pay for this? When did you even make the reservations?" Lucy shrugged. "Don't worry about it. While the boys are stuck on the surface, we're going to find some buried treasure!"
