The sun twinkled in the sky like a soft painting. Its rays illuminated the dew on the ground and in the plants from the rain the day before. It was a moment where he had all his Loomians out of their disc. They walked a few steps ahead, and Thane's heart soared as he saw his three Loomians walk and talk together. For the first time, they all acted like proper teammates with each other. Though, the look of mischief that Geklow was kindling in their eyes as she rambled on while waving her hands did not inspire confidence. Still, his heart soared as he watched them finally acting civil, even if he was slightly worried about any possible mischief they would get up to now that they didn't spend their free time bickering with each other, or more accurately, Geklow bickering and starting fights with Embit and Twittle.

Thane took a moment to look down at his watch. He remembered his promise to Geklow, helping her evolve. There were two ways to do that: feed her the special Soul Crystals until she reached enough energy, or find and feed her a Thunderfruit. The picture of the Thunderfruit, a cluster of what appeared to be blue grapes with yellow streaks, was accompanied by a description. A rare fruit that causes harm if eaten by humans, but may induce evolution if eaten by certain Loomians. Thane read silently to himself. He quickly switched the app to the Navigation App and flipped through the screens until he arrived at the Kanoko Village page. Thane knew it might be a stretch to expect they had a Thunderfruit, but they could have other useful medicine.

When the gang finally reached the fork in the road with the opposite arrows, one read "Route 5" And the other read "Kanoko Village," the Loomians all began to walk in the direction of Route 5. "Hold on guys." Thane stopped them and they all turned to him confused. "We're going to check out Kanoko Village first. Let's see if they have anything useful that we can buy." The Loomians were confused for a moment, but then they went along with their trainer's request.

The group quickly changed course and began to walk. It was only a few minute's walk before the houses were in view. They were cute little homes, round with beautiful plant life grasping the structures. It was almost as if they spawned out of the ground itself. As they were near, Thane spotted a distressed-looking old man in front of the closest house. He had a small tuft of white hair left on the top of his head, but by the looks of it, it would soon fall away due to stress. He was pacing, sweat running from his forehead and his hands grasping the sides of his head. Twittle and Embit looked at each other, and Twittle shrugged before making a face causing Embit to giggle.

When the old man spotted Thane, he practically knocked him over despite his feeble frame as he nearly slammed into him. "My boy, are you a Loomian trainer?" He demanded as he eyed his team. Thane wondered if another old man would push a chore onto him again. Embit glared at the old man's legs, he clearly hadn't forgotten what had happened to him the last time they helped an old man. "Uh, yes," Thane said slowly. The old man sighed in relief. "Thank goodness! Listen, my boy, I need your help!" Thane stared straight ahead as the man shook his shoulders. "Since the rainstorm yesterday, some wild Slugling have invaded my home. If you clear them out I will reimburse you." The old man explained.

Thane sideglanced at his Loomians. All three of them were shaking their head slowly as if to say, "Don't do it." But how could Thane refuse an old man who was clearly so distressed? "Okay, I'll help you sir," Thane said finally, and Geklow facepalmed.

That's how the group ended up standing outside the front door of the old man's house. "Go on." The old man rushed. Thane ignored him and looked down at his Loomians. None of them seemed too pleased to be there at the moment. "Stay ready everyone," Thane commanded as he swung the front door open and stepped inside.

Immediately Thane was greeted by a pleasant smell of herbs and coffee. Embit took a long sniff of the air, clearly approving. "So, where are they? He said there were three." Thane asked no one. Suddenly, two Sluglings slithered out from under a table. "Geklow open the window!" Thane ordered while pointing at a nearby window. "Embit, Ear Slap! Twittle use Peck!" For the first time, Geklow followed an order, much to Thane's surprise despite their reconciliation. Geklow hopped onto a drawer, not caring when she kicked a few plates off, shattering them upon hitting the floor. She quickly shoved her fist through the glass, shattering the window. Tiny glass shards flew through the air and Thane winced. Meanwhile, Embit and Twittle quickly defeated the two Slugling and tossed them out the now-shattered window.

"Where's the last one?" Thane wondered aloud as his Loomians walked up to stand before him. Everyone looked around searching when suddenly, a sphere of purple sludge fired from under a sofa and hit Twittle in the back. Twittle was sent flying forward and into a corner table. "Twittle!" Thane cried as he rushed up to his Loomian and pulled out a small med.

Geklow and Embit quickly turned in time to see the final Slugling slither from under a sofa. Geklow raised her fist, Static Shock formed in her palm before the electricity dispersed and covered her fist like a glove. Embit tried shouting a warning, but it was too late as Geklow leaped forward with a raised fist. Slugling looked up unphased as Geklow slammed an electrified fist into it, but the move barely did anything. Before Geklow could do anything else, sharp, pink petals formed above Slugling's back. Then, Geklow took a barrage of Petal Pummel at point-blank range. She cried out and shut her eyes as a shower of sharp petals cut into her. Then she felt herself being lifted forcefully. She opened her eyes in time to see two vines protruding from Slugling's side before she was slammed into the ceiling and left to drop back down onto a small table, destroying it as she crashed through it.

As Thane tended to Twittle and Geklow, Embit turned to the Slugling and let out a low growl, prompting Slugling to do the same. "Embit, Singe! Actually, don't!" Thane cried suddenly remembering they were in a home primarily constructed of wood. Luckily, Embit managed to stop himself just in time before showering Slugling in flames. Slugling let out a cry and fired Sludge. "Use Ear Slap and send it back!" Thane ordered. Embit twirled, powering up his ears, and slammed them into the incoming purple sphere. Before it could implode, it was sent hurtling back at Slugling. Slugling cried out in surprise as Sludge was used against it.

"Is it enough?" Thane wondered as he pulled out a Capture Disc. No, it wasn't, Slugling was still standing. It let out a cry of anger and fired a storm of Petal Pummel. "Embit!" Thane cried. He quickly rushed forward and reached down, into the sharp storm, wincing as his arms were cut up, and pulled Embit out of the line of fire. "Ear Slap!" Thane commanded as he held Embit high above his head. Embit let out a cry and his ears shot forth like whips. They slammed into Slugling, and the Loomian let out a cry of pain.

Embit dropped down onto Thane's shoulder and Thane raised the disc again. Unlike the other Slugling, this one was strong and wanted to fight. It would make a great addition to the team. With an excited cry, Thane threw the disc. It bounced off Slugling before a blue light enveloped it, and in a flash, Slugling was gone.

Everyone held their breath for a moment as the disc shook on the floor. Then, multicolored stars shot out from the disc, and a ding rang. Slugling had been caught. Thane's face broke out into a wide smile, just like the previous two times he had caught a new Loomian. "Look, guys!" Thane cried as he held out the disc to his three Loomians to examine. Twittle let out an excited chirp and Embit sniffed the disc curiously. Geklow just looked sore that she had lost to a much smaller Loomian.

Thane opened up the Loomipedia app on his watch and they all crowded around, waiting to see what the watch would say about their new teammate. "Slugling, the Slug Loomian. It is a Plant type Loomian and the pre-evolved form of Escagrow. Slugling can often be found around decaying plant life. They thrive on fallen trees. They like to use the vines that protrude from their sides to hang off tree branches." Thane closed the app. "Cool." He muttered. That's when he and his Loomians noticed the state their fight had left the house in. "Oh." Thane winced as he looked around. A ruined sofa, a shattered window, sharp petals scattered everywhere, and multiple destroyed tables. Thane wondered how he was going to explain this to the old man.

"They're all gone?" The old man asked Thane. The boy and his Loomians all nodded quickly and quietly. The man sighed in relief. "Oh, thank you, my boy." He then reached into a small bag and took out three small bottles of red gel. "Here, it's the least I can do." He said as he placed the burn gels into Thane's hand. "Burn gels, they cure a Loomian's burn."He explained. Now Thane really felt bad. Sure, they did do what they were asked, but they also did wreck the man's home in the process. "Thank you, my boy." The old man said before patting him on the shoulder and walking into his house. Without looking at each other, all four of them came to the same agreement, and took off sprinting. They sprinted out of the village, past the fork in the road, and they didn't stop sprinting until they were at the Route 5 gate.
