It turns out, that the battle with Gobbidemic was the start of some bad luck. Thane had managed to make it past Route 6, but had quickly gotten lost while traversing Route 7. Embit was perched on his right shoulder and Paratweet was somewhere in the sky, looking for a way to get everyone back on course. Geklow and Slugling were resting in their discs, trying to recover from the lingering nausea of poison. Since Paratweet was exposed to the poison for only a short time, she had fully recovered, unlike her two teammates.

Meanwhile, Whispup was enjoying the shade of the shadows as it followed the boy and his team. It seemed that not even Embit could sense him. Why hadn't he stayed? Whispup asked himself as he regretted the decision to flee. He would be forced to wait for the next opportunity.

In the air, Paratweet's sharp eyes scanned the area as she looked for a way to Sepharite City. Then, she spotted three figures in the distance. The pair of blonde and orange hair stuck out like a sore thumb against the green grass and gray rocks. It took a moment, but Paratweet soon recognized them as the kids from Cheshma Town and Route 4. Suddenly, a streak of Geklow's mischievous personality slipped into Paratweet's demeanor as the boredom that had consumed her for the past hour overtook her mind. She giggled to herself as a plan for harmless fun formed in her mind.

Paratweet held in her laughter as she swooped down and landed on Thane's outstretched arm. "Did you find anything Paratweet?" Thane asked. The wind blew his silver hair to the side. Paratweet nodded and took off into the air and began to fly slowly, allowing Thane, Embit, and unknowingly Whispup to follow.

Paratweet couldn't help but let out muffled giggles as she led the two clueless parties closer and closer together. She wished Geklow could see her plan in action. She took off high into the air to confirm they were on the same path before swooping back down and continuing to lead. Soon, Thane and the three teenagers would cross paths. The thought was enough to make Paratweet giggle in gleeful delight.

By the time Embit, Thane's early warning system, had noticed anything, it was too late. The group had walked through a small cluster of trees, and when they broke through, they came face-to-face with three familiar faces. Everyone blinked as recognition started to seep him. Meanwhile, Paratweet was trying to hold in her laughter while Whispup watched in confusion.

Embit was the first to recognize the trio as he remembered their smells. Lucas smelled of a surprisingly pleasant blend of foods, Lucy of fresh grass and flowers, and Mabel smelled of rosemary. Embit made a cute sound of recognition and turned to Thane, tugging on his ear while pointing at the trio. Suddenly, an "Ohhhh!!!" from Lucas' lips rang out and everyone turned to him. He pointed at Thane with his left hand and snapped his fingers with his right. The sudden attention made Thane feel awkward. Lucas had Thane's name on the tip of his tongue.

However, Mabel was the first to speak as she remembered their last encounter. "We know you!" She exclaimed suddenly. "You nearly blinded us!" Thane shot back. "You picked a fight with me!" He wasn't sure it was a fair comparison. "Thane!" Everyone suddenly turned to Lucas who shrugged awkwardly. "What? That's your name, right?" Thane nodded slowly and prepared to respond when Mabel interjected again. "It doesn't matter what his name is! This is the third time we've run into you!" she pointed out as she pointed an accusatory finger at Thane like that was somehow his fault.

Thane raised his hands in defense. "How is that-" Mabel cut him off. "It doesn't matter, you remember what happened last time?" Thane, Embit, and Paratweet all nodded slowly. Mabel narrowed her eyes. "It's time for round two!" She challenged. Thane blinked for a moment, then chuckled softly, his ego getting the better of him. "You remember what happened last time, right?" He said with a smirk that Embit copied. Mabel's eye twitched as Thane started to get under her skin, but she waved dismissively. "That doesn't matter." She turned to her friends. "Lucy, Lucas-" Lucas cut her off. "Pass." Mabel's voice faltered for half a second. "What do you mean pass?!" She demanded while putting her hands on her hips. "I'm hungry." Was the only explanation Lucas offered as he sat down on the grass.
