Thane knew something was up at breakfast. Embit was doing a mediocre job at hiding it, his eyes constantly drifted over to Thane. Twittle looked like she was about to burst out laughing and avoided looking at Thane directly. Geklow looked like she was about to pop a vein in her head with how hard she was trying to contain her laughter. Slugling was the only one who looked composed, but that didn't count. He always looked composed, his face stoic as he munched on the leaves Thane had set down in front of him. "What's going on?" Thane asked as he took slow bites of his food. Embit, Geklow, and Twittle all burst out laughing, and even Slugling cracked a smile. Still, none of them said a word, and Thane finally let it go. He just hoped he wouldn't regret it.

After breakfast, Thane packed up camp, ready to find another spot for the night. As the group walked, Thane began to grow restless for a battle. Sure, it was great to train within the team, but there was nothing like battling other trainers. He turned to Twittle who was perched on his shoulder. "Twittle, see if there are any trainers nearby to challenge." Twittle let out a long chirp and took off into the air, leaving the rest of them to take a quick rest. After a few minutes, Twittle returned overhead. She circled the group and let out a cry, motioning them to follow her. Thane turned to the rest of his team. "Come on guys."

The group followed Twittle until they reached a small clearing near the stream. Thane crouched low and watched as a pretty blue-haired girl, Jenna, looked up at her Geklow. Thane watched as under Jenna's command, Geklow struck again and again at a large rock. With every strike, cracks began to form over the rock. "Light Dash!" Jenna commanded. Geklow landed swiftly on his feet, and began to glow with a white light. Suddenly the rock shattered as Geklow struck it with its fists. Geklow turned back to its trainer with a nod. "You ready?" Jenna asked and once Geklow nodded, she reached into her pocket, and pulled out a green Thunderfruit.

"That's a—" Before Thane could finish his sentence, his Geklow was sprinting across the grass and towards a surprised Jenna and her Geklow. "Geklow stop!" Thane yelled as he popped up from behind the rock he was crouched behind, but Geklow didn't listen. She was locked in on the Thunderfruit in Jenna's hand, and her evolution. While Thane's Geklow was only after her evolution, the other Geklow has only registered a threat. Suddenly, Geklow was thrown back by a bright flash of light and pain shot up her jaw from the other Geklow's Light Dash strike. Geklow landed on her feet and looked up, and smiled as a Static Shock passed over her, Lightning Rod powered up her ranged attacks. She stood up tall and let loose Shine, blinding the opposing Geklow and sending it reeling back with Geklow taking the chance to land a strike.

The other Geklow growled and prepared to retaliate, when suddenly Embit landed in between the fighting Loomians. With a dominant cry, flames exploded from his fur and high into the air, momentarily bathing the area in a bright orange. Both Geklow's skidded to a stop on opposite sides of Embit. Embit turned to give an apologetic look to the Geklow, before turning to glare at his friend.

Thane emerged from behind the rock, his face on fire. Twittle shot into the air and circled dangerously, waiting for the fuse to blow. Slugling was perched on Thane's shoulder, happily oblivious to the discord Geklow just caused, but if he had known, Thane was certain he would be ready for a fight. "What was that about?!" Jenna demanded as she crossed her arms, still holding the Thunderfruit. Geklow was about to lunge for it, but Embit, rightfully suspecting it, stopped her and dragged her back a safe distance.

Embit and Geklow looked back at their trainer, then back at Jenna, then down at the other Geklow, who had its fist electrified, still looking angry and ready for a fight. While Geklow stared down Thane's Loomians, Jenna's eyes bore into Thane, and he could feel his face grow hotter as he approached. He tentatively raised his hands in the air in a gesture of surrender. "I- I-" He stuttered and no words came. Thane felt his mind go blank under her sharp glare. By this point, Embit had let Geklow go and was now, focused on Thane and the strange girl, wondering what would happen next.
