Embit noticed it first. His eyes were wide open the entire night, ears peeking up at the smallest sound. Now, it was early morning, and sleep was clawing at Embit. The others had all fallen asleep at some point during the night, but not Embit. He stayed awake and alert. Unbeknownst to him, Whispup accompanied him in this endeavor.

However, Embit was starting to slip. He could feel his eyes grow heavy and being forced closed, that is until he heard the sound. Embit's eyes snapped open as he heard Thane groan. Embit immediately whirled around to see Thane slowly sitting up in bed, his weak hands reaching for his face.

Embit immediately woke the others, and they crowded around Thane. Embit and Geklow were both about to jump onto Thane's bed when Slugling's vines stopped them. They both snapped their heads back with a glare to see Paratweet shaking her head, telling them to give their trainer space.

They all turned, however, when Thane spoke out in a high-pitched voice caused by fear and confusion. "Who's there? Embit? Paratweet? Geklow? Slugling?" Thane stuck his arms out in front of him, cautiously feeling his surroundings. "Jake? Mabel? Lucas? Lucy? Is anyone there?" He asked, his voice frantic. Embit let out a cry to reassure his trainer and Slugling extended a reassuring vine. Thane grasped for it and clutched it tightly as if it were a lifeline. "Embit? Is everybody there?" In response, all of Thane's Loomians let out cries of response.

While still clutching Slugling's vine, Thane slowly moved a hand up to his face. The task seemed impossible, as Thane's arm seemed to want to limp. His whole body was numb and weak, he wasn't strong enough to move. "My eyes feel cold. Everything is gray." Thane said weakly as he finally regained control of his arm. Slowly, and with effort, Thane managed to raise his hand, and his fingers caressed his face. His heart leaped out of his chest when he felt metal where his eyes should be.

Everything hit him at once. Once his brain processed what he was looking at, or what he was looking through, he felt like throwing up. He tried shutting his eyes tightly, but there were no eyes to shut. Thane gripped his sheets tightly as his brain tried to process what he was looking at. His brain was struggling to comprehend it, and he was getting mental whiplash.

His world was no longer blackness, though he wasn't sure if his new perspective was any better. Instead, everything looked like shadows, no, outlines. Outlines were a better word. Very rough outlines. Everything looked solid with no fine details. Everything was also different shades of gray, white, black, and silver, but he noted that living things were silver in color. The walls were a solid light gray shape with a dark outline, and so was his bed. It was a solid light gray rectangle with a black outline.

When Thane looked down at his hands, he noticed two things. Unlike the walls and bed, his hands weren't rudimentary shapes. They were the shape of normal hands, except they were silver in color and had no fine detail. He couldn't see his fingernails or the creases on his palms or fingers.

Thane was forced to stare in shock, it's not like he could close his non-existent eyes. Trying to ignore all the gray and silver around him, Thane took a few shaky breaths. Then, before he could think twice about it, turned his head to look around the room. Everything appeared to look like rough outlines. It felt like Thane was in a box due to the walls appearing to be completely solid.

When he looked at his Loomians, he couldn't help but stare. Like his hands, the Loomians were the most detailed. He could clearly tell them apart. Their shapes were completely accurate, except they had no fine details, much like Thane's hands. Their body shapes were all correct, except that was it. They were all solid silver outlines with no fine detail. No faces, fur, wings, scales, nothing. All that was left was the shapes of his Loomians. Had Thane not been in shock at his new situation, he might have noticed a black mist floating behind his team that was a hidden Whispup.
