It was around nine in the morning when Thane finally woke up. By the time Thane had gotten ready, Geklow had broken into his bag and stolen a granola bar. As she ate Embit and Twittle tried to break through to her and talk. Thane rolled his eyes at Geklow's stubbornness before dialing his mother. "Hey, Sweetie!" Lauren greeted. "Hey Mom, I made it to Silvent City! And I caught a new Loomian!" He pointed the watch at Geklow. "That's wonderful! Are you planning on challenging the Battle Theatre?" Lauren asked. Thane nodded. "Yeah, I registered for the Roria League too!" The look on Lauren's holographic face was hard to read. "The League, huh? I tried that once, but I never managed to get all the medals in time." She quickly changed the subject. "Well, are you planning on challenging Naya now?" Thane shook his head. "I want to do some sightseeing first, I'll let you know when I do." Lauren nodded, and after saying their goodbyes, Thane hung up. Thane turned off the watch and turned to his team. "So, who wants breakfast?" Everyone, even Geklow let out sounds of agreement.

Thane let his Loomians stay out of their discs as they walked through the streets. Embit was perched on his shoulder like always, Twittle was perched on his other shoulder, careful to not cut into Thane's skin with her talons, and Geklow walked a few paces ahead like she was too good for them, but she didn't stray too far because she knew that Thane could recall her to her disc at any moment.

After consulting one of the locals, Thane learned of a small, unknown, and apparently, underrated spot. He had followed the directions provided by the locals and found himself in front of a small red-and-white food joint. The windows were stained and the only sign was a cardboard one at the door, Embit's Bites. Thane assumed they were still workshopping that name as he opened the door and stepped inside.

The inside of the building was clean with black and white checkered floors, white walls, and red tables. The place was empty, it wasn't surprising considering Silvent City Subs was right across the street. An Embit and its trainer greeted them from behind a counter. "Hi! Welcome to Embit's Bites, I'm Mike!" The young man greeted. He had snow-white hair, and green eyes, and wore a red T-shirt and black jeans. "Hi." Thane greeted as he and his Loomians walked up to the counter. After a few minutes of deliberation, Thane and his Loomiams ordered their food.

"By the way," Mike began as he took down the order. "We're doing a special promotion, any trainer who can beat Embit gets their food for free. We're doing anything to spark interest in our food joint." Thane hummed in acknowledgment. Free food did sound nice. "Alright, can I give it a shot?"

That's how Thane found himself on a small battlefield behind the restaurant. Next to him stood his Loomians. Twittle looked ready to battle, Embit looked really ready to battle, and Geklow looked bored. On the opposite side of the field was Mike and his Embit. "Alright, Geklow, go!" Embit deflated and Twittle patted him on the back with her wing. But Geklow didn't move. She yawned and sat down. Twittle facepalmed and Thane's face burned in embarrassment. "Here!" Thane growled as he tossed her an apple. "Now go!"

Geklow devoured the fruit in seconds and was on the field, sprinting toward Embit at breakneck speeds. Before it could react, Geklow landed a Spare to its stomach, sending it flying back with a wheezed cry. "Embit! You okay?" Mike asked worriedly as his Loomian struggled to get up. Embit nodded before turning back to face Geklow.

"Use Singe!" "Dodge it!" Geklow didn't follow Thane's command, instead, she fired Static Shock. The burst of fire and ball of electricity collided in the air, kicking up a cloud of smoke and sparks. "Stay ready!" Mike commanded. Embit watched the smoke intently. Suddenly a bright flash erupted from the smoke, blinding him. Then a paralyzing electric shock erupted on his skin and flooded his entire body as Static Shock landed on a dazed Embit. The attack made Embit fly back and knocked him out, winning Thane the battle, and free food.

Back inside, after Embit was healed, he and Mike set off to make the food. "Why weren't you listening to me?" Thane demanded at Geklow who sat on the floor. The Loomian stuck her tongue out, making her blatant disrespect clear. Embit grumbled something under his breath and Geklow glared at him. The two Loomians looked ready to leap at each other, and Twittle and Thane looked ready to play peacemaker. Luckily, before a fight could break out and they were kicked out of another establishment like in Cheshma Town, Mike and Embit walked out with their food.

Geklow immediately dropped the attitude and began to devour her meal as soon as it was set down in front of her. Embit and Twittle quickly made sure to place their plates on the opposite side of Geklow. "Hey, thanks for the battle," Mike said as he began to mop a dirty corner of the restaurant. "I've been trying to train up Embit for a while." "Why?" Thane asked curiously through a bite of his sandwich. "A Ragoon keeps showing up every night." Embit froze mid-bite and began to listen intently. "Digs through the trash, breaks in, and steals our equipment." Embit froze when the words came out of Mike's mouth. "It didn't show up yesterday, but the next time it does, Embit and I want to be ready."

Suddenly, Twittle let out a warning shriek and flapped her wings wildly taking off into the air as something crashed through the window, glass rained down on the floor and tables. A form of grey and black fur crashed into the restaurant and tackled Embit off the table. Thane and Mike yelled out as Ragoon and Embit crashed into a table, knocking it over. Embit quickly flipped onto his feet and went for Pounce, but was met with a kick to his small frame that sent an ocean of pain flooding across his body and him flying onto the counter.

Ragoon was quick to jump up and charge with Chomp. "Dodge it!" Thane cried. Embit quickly rolled to the side and off the counter as Ragoon bit into it, sending splinters of wood into the air. Embit hopped onto a table and kicked a napkin holder straight at Ragoon, who shielded itself with its arms. "Peck!" Twittle dove down and drilled into Ragoon with a white spinning beak. Thane turned to Geklow, "Use Static Shock!" Geklow simply ignored him and continued eating. "Ugh! What is with you?!" Thane and Mike both turned to their Embit's. "Singe!" Twittle let off her relentless Peck attack and took off into the air, allowing the Embits to charge up and fire Singe. The twin Singe connected with Ragoon's chest, sending it flying across the room.

Almost on instinct at this point, Thane reached for a disc, only to realize that they were still on the table along with his bag. Before he could rush for one, Mike beat him to the punch. He pulled out a Capture Disc and threw it at a downed Ragoon. Blue light enveloped Ragoon as Mike's Capture Disc brought it inside. Everyone held their breath as the disc shook, once, then twice, and finally a third time. A ding sounded from the disc and multicolored stars exploded from it, signaling Ragoon's capture.

Everyone slumped down into the nearest chair and took a moment to catch their breath, meanwhile, Geklow ate as if nothing had happened, and Thane shot her a glare, which she ignored. Thane and his Loomians, minus Geklow, helped Mike clean up the mess from the fight. After that, Thane and his team walked away from the most eventful breakfast they had in their entire lives. Thane let his Loomians rest for a few hours in their Trainer Station room while he searched up everything he could on the stones, but that was not what was on his mind.

Today, today was the day he stepped into the ring and challenged his first Battle Theatre.
