"My decision to run for president was an easy one. I saw the current leaders destroying our great country and knew we needed to be saved. I owe my win to my family, my campaign staff, the amazing men and women of this country, and Alex Claremont Diaz," Alex stares at the screen, his eyes fixated on the press conference, "Without him ruining his mother's campaign time and time again, Ellen Claremont would have succeeded in brainwashing the strong citizens of our beautiful land."

"Alex," Oscar says as he walks into the living room, "you have to stop watching that."

"Why?"

"Because it's not healthy."

Alex just shrugs and stands up, walking back into his bedroom. Just as he climbs into his bed, his phone starts to vibrate from his nightstand. He swipes to answer the facetime call, keeping the camera angled at the ceiling.

"Hey, sweetheart," Henry says softly once the call connects.

"Hey," Alex responds monotonously.

"I just landed and Shaan and I will be there in an hour."

"What? You're not supposed to be here until next week."

"It is next week, Alex," Henry says sadly.

"Right."

"Alex, are you okay?"

"Yup. Great," Alex responds.

Henry lets out a soft sigh, "you watched it again, didn't you?"

"Possibly."

"Alex," Henry says softly

"I'm fine," Alex interrupts.

"Ale-."

"I should go and get in the shower," Alex says, "I love you."

"I love you."

Henry and Shaan's town car pull onto the street Alex's home is on to see flashing lights in the distance.

"Oh, hell," the equerry says under his breath.

"No, it can't be him," Henry speaks.

The car reaches the home to show that the lights belong to an ambulance outside of the Claremont-Diaz home. Before the car is even in park, Henry is rushing from it. He sprints towards the front door. Just as he reaches the porch, the door opens and paramedics come out. On the gurney, Alex is laying. His clothes are drenched in blood and he has bandages with blood soaking through on his wrists. Ellen and Oscar step out of the home, both of them having blood on them as well.

"W-w-w-w-what happened?" Henry stutters out, his eyes fixated on the blood.

"I heard a thud. I thought he dropped a book or something, but I still wanted to make sure he was okay," Ellen says, her voice shaking as she watches the paramedics load Alex onto the rig.

"It took a while to break his door down when he wasn't answering," Oscar says, "we found him on the floor, bleeding really bad."

Henry looks at the ambulance, his heart beating a mile a minute as he wipes tears from his face.

Shaan quickly pulls him back into the town car, on the phone with Zahra. The drive to the hospital is foggy for Henry, his eyes fixated on the lights of the ambulance in front of them. In this moment, his biggest fear is the lights turning off.

June and Nora are both on their way to Texas from their universities. Percy just happened to be in New York, so he is also on his way. Zahra, Shaan, Ellen, Oscar, and Henry are in the waiting area. They were obviously given a private spot, given who they are. They've been waiting for two hours already, not getting a single update. Finally, as if on cue, a doctor walks in.

"How is he?" Ellen asks.

The doctor sighs, "your son's vitals have stabilized, but he was put into a medically induced coma. We needed to give his body time to recuperate from the blood loss he experienced. Due to the coma, we have him on a ventilator."

"C-Can we see him?" Henry asks.

"Two at a time," the doctor says.

Henry turns towards Ellen and Oscar, "you should go first."

"Are you sure?" Oscar questions, but Ellen is already following the doctor to her son.

"Yeah, I'll come eventually."

Henry stares with teary eyes at Alex's pale body, "hey."

"Hey, baby," Alex says softly.

"I missed your voice," Henry says, his tears running down his face as he gently sits on the edge of Alex's bed.

"I know, I-I'm sorry."

"No, don't apologize," Henry says, "but if you want to make history with me, you have to live, okay?"

Alex laughs softly, "I know, I love you."

"And I love you," Henry leans down and places a kiss on Alex's lips, "don't you dare go in another coma for three days."

"I won't," Alex responds, "now four days is a whole other sto-."

"Alex."

"Sorry."
