Ф𝐯𝐞𝐫 the next few days, I watched Percy closely. He was receiving lessons from satyrs, nymphs, and a centaur, Every morning, he studied Ancient Greek with Annabeth, discussing the gods and goddesses as if they were present. I couldn't help but wish for a friendship like theirs. I envied their bond, even though I knew it was my own fault for everything.

It was clear that Percy despised wrestling. Every time he stepped onto the mat, Clarisse would defeat him and whisper something in his ear.

The one thing Percy truly excelled at was canoeing, which surprised me considering he had defeated the Minotaur.

But all of that is in the past now, because it's finally Friday, which means it's time for capture the flag. I found myself on Ares' side due to losing a bet with Sander.

I walked over to Luke, who was engaged in conversation with Percy, while Lysander followed close behind me, acting like my personal bodyguard.

"You on our team this week Lara?" Luke asked, and I shook my head, pointing at the crimson hue on my helmet  I didn't like being on Athena's side, It felt like if one person disliked you, the whole cabin would too. Plus, Annabeth would always assign me the most tedious or challenging tasks.

"I lost a bet to Lysander," I explained briefly, and Luke raised an eyebrow at the person behind me. I turned to Percy, who was struggling with his chest plates. "He needs a smaller one," I noted, giving him a once-over.

Percy glanced at me, and I couldn't help but blush as our eyes met. "You're on the Ares team?" Percy asked incredulously, his eyebrows shooting up in disbelief as he noticed the color of my armor.

"Yeah," I shrugged. Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted Chiron. "See you on the other side," I teased, making Percy's ears turn red as I walked away.

"You like him," Sander stated as we headed to our side, and my eyes widened. "No, I don't," I quickly replied, facing him.

"Then why are you blushing?" he asked, tapping his cheeks. I looked away. "I'm not blushing," I said, trying to hide my face.

He raised an eyebrow at me. "You gonna keep lying to me?" he asked, poking me in the side with the blunt end of his spear.

"Are you gonna keep interrogating me?" I retorted, matching his reaction.

Chiron pounded the ground with his hoof, pulling the attention of all the campers. "Heroes! You know the rules. The creek is the boundary line, otherwise the entire forest is fair game. All magic items are allowed.
The banner must be prominently displayed at all times and no more than two guards. No maiming or killing! I'll serve as referee and battlefield medic. Ready yourselves!"
