Lane's POV (1st person):

Driving home from a long day at work, I watch the city lights blur past as I navigate the familiar route. My mind drifts, replaying the interactions of the day, the lessons taught, the students' eager faces. As I pull into the driveway of my spacious house, a sense of peace washes over me.

Stepping inside, I'm greeted by the excited barks of my loyal companion, Buddy. His tail wags furiously as he nuzzles against my leg, his warm presence a comforting presence in the otherwise empty house. I make my way to the shower, eager to wash away the day's stresses and relax in the solitude of my home.

My house is a sanctuary, a place of order and calm amidst the chaos of the outside world. I take pride in keeping things tidy and organised, a reflection of the discipline instilled in me from a young age. Growing up in a strict household, I relish the freedom of living on my own, making my own choices and living by my own rules.

Despite my parents' occasional visits, urging me to settle down and find a wife, I find solace in the independence of my life. At 25, I have yet to discover what I truly want, still exploring the world and all its possibilities.

As I prepare for the tutoring session with Rebecca tomorrow, a sense of anticipation stirs within me. I appreciate her dedication to her studies and admire her determination to succeed. Tomorrow will be a chance to connect, to share knowledge and learn from each other.

I lean back against the cushioned comfort of my couch, Buddy's head resting on my lap as I contemplate the day ahead. The prospect of spending time with Rebecca brings a smile to my face, a break from the routine of my solitary existence. Tomorrow holds the promise of new beginnings, of unexpected connections, and I can't help but feel a spark of excitement deep within me.
