Rebecca's POV (1st Person):

It was the day of the wedding, and my nerves were through the roof. I stood in front of the mirror, trying to calm my racing heart. I had chosen a simple yet elegant white dress that hugged my figure in all the right places. It had thin spaghetti straps and flowed down to be a mid-length, ethereal dress.

I did my hair in loose curls, letting them cascade down my shoulders. My sister, always the secret accomplice, helped me with my makeup, giving me a natural look with a hint of shimmer. She also handed me a pair of delicate pearl earrings and a matching necklace.

"Thanks, Lianna," I whispered, giving her a tight hug.

"No problem. Just be careful, okay?" she replied, her eyes full of concern.

I nodded, throwing a long coat over my outfit to conceal it. I didn't dare tell my parents about the wedding, especially after the last incident. Instead, I decided to sneak out and hope they didn't notice.

I opened my window and looked down at the ladder I had placed the night before. It seemed stable enough, but my heart still pounded in my chest. "Here goes nothing," I muttered, swinging my legs over the windowsill.

As I started to climb down, I bumped my head against the window frame. "Ow! Stupid window," I whispered, rubbing my head. I took a deep breath and continued, trying to move as quietly as possible.

Just as I was about halfway down, I heard a horn beep. My heart jumped into my throat, and I nearly screamed, thinking it was my parents. In a panic, I practically jumped down the rest of the way, my feet hitting the ground with a thud.
