Rebecca's POV (1st person):

The soft light of morning filtered through the small gap in the changing room door, casting a gentle glow over us. I blinked groggily, my body still nestled against Lane's warmth. As I shifted slightly, his arm tightened around me, pulling me closer.

"Morning," he murmured, his voice rough with sleep.

I looked up at him, my cheeks flushing as I remembered our position. "Morning," I replied, trying to suppress a smile.

Lane stretched, his movements causing me to lose my balance slightly and fall against his chest. "Comfortable?" he asked, a playful smirk tugging at his lips.

I rolled my eyes, trying to hide my embarrassment. "Very," I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

He chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Good. Because you're not getting up until you tell me why you were blushing last night."

I bit my lip, trying to suppress a giggle. "I already told you, it was just warm in here," I said, unable to keep a straight face.

Lane narrowed his eyes playfully. "Rebecca, I'm serious. What's the real reason?"

I shrugged, still giggling. "Maybe I was just thinking about how you look in a tutu."

He groaned, clearly getting more annoyed with my evasive answers. "Rebecca..."

I burst into uncontrollable laughter, clutching my sides. "Or maybe I was imagining you trying to breakdance."

Lane rolled his eyes, but a smile tugged at his lips. "Rebecca,"

He climbed over me, his hands resting on either side of my head, effectively trapping me. "Last chance," he said, his voice low and teasing. "Tell me the truth."

I froze as his hands pressed against the surface beside my head, his body hovering close, creating an intimate space that felt both exhilarating and terrifying. His eyes bore into mine, searching for something I wasn't sure I wanted to reveal.

"Last chance," he repeated, his voice a gentle command laced with an undercurrent of something deeper. "Tell me the truth."

I didn't know what to say. My face was burning with the proximity and I was pretty sure he was teasing, the answer on the tip of my tongue yet I couldn't get it out. This was majorly inappropriate. If someone were to walk in on us right now, they would get the wrong—

"Ah, there you are..." Matt's voice echoed around the small changing room. "Lane... Rebecca?"

We both froze, Lane still hovering over me, his hands on either side of my head. My heart pounded in my chest as I turned to see Matt standing in the doorway, his eyes wide with surprise and confusion.

"Matt!" Lane exclaimed, quickly moving away from me and standing up. "What are you doing here?"

Matt looked between us, his brow furrowing. "I was looking for you two. The store manager said someone might be stuck in here overnight. Didn't expect to find... this."

I scrambled to my feet, my face burning with embarrassment. "We got locked in," I explained quickly, trying to sound casual. "It was a mistake."

Matt raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying my explanation. "Right. Well, the manager got here early and let me in to check. You two okay?"

Lane nodded, his composure returning. "Yeah, we're fine. Just a long night."

"Right," Matt said again, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Well, let's get you both out of here."

Lane offered his hand to help me up, and I took it, trying to ignore the butterflies in my stomach. As we walked out of the changing room, I couldn't help but feel a mix of relief and anxiety. The situation had been so close to becoming something more, and Matt's interruption had brought it all crashing back to reality.
