As the bus rolled to a stop near my neighbourhood, I removed my AirPods and gathered my belongings, preparing to face the chaos that awaited me at home. Stepping off the bus, I hurried down the familiar streets, the weight of the day's events still heavy on my shoulders.

I reached the front door of our modest home, the familiar sound of raised voices drifting through the walls. Taking a deep breath, I pushed open the door and stepped inside, steeling myself for what I knew would be a challenging evening.

My parents, always protective and strict, were in the midst of a heated argument when I entered the living room. My older sister, caught in the crossfire, looked up at me with a tired smile, while my older brother studied his textbooks at the dining table, trying to block out the commotion.

My younger sister, always busy with her latest project or homework assignment, barely glanced up from her work as I passed by. I tried to act as normal as possible, offering a brief greeting to each family member before retreating to my room, seeking refuge from the tension that hung heavy in the air.

As I settled at my desk and began to work on my own assignments, the muffled sounds of my parents' argument filtered through the walls. I couldn't make out the words, but the frustration and anger in their voices made my heart ache.

I wished for peace and harmony within our home, a respite from the constant turmoil that seemed to follow us like a shadow. But I knew that life was rarely that simple, and that sometimes we had to weather the storms in order to appreciate the calm that followed.

As the evening wore on, the tension in the house gradually eased, replaced by a heavy silence that hung between us like a veil. I knew that tomorrow would bring new challenges, new battles to be fought, but for now, in this moment of quiet solitude, I allowed myself to breathe and find solace in the stillness of the night.

And as I closed my eyes, drifting off to sleep in the comfort of my own room, I held onto the hope that amidst the chaos and strife, there was still love and warmth to be found within the walls of our home.
